The bio is very comprehensive up until around 1987 then the details are a little thin but over all it's a great listen/read. Having three voice overs is odd, I loved Johnny and the man himself. Keith keeps nothing back and there are few great surprises and yet it's exhausting even thinking about some of the stories. I haven't read anything this crazy since Moon. If you love the Stones or Keith or have any feelings for the 60's and 70's you will enjoy this, Keith has lived a very fascinating life, or perhaps several.
But Joel took a perfectly good story and two thirds of the way in dumped a load of religious weirdness on me. Having now googled the author I guess I should blame myself, I assumed it was a regular thriller not an evangelical propaganda text.
Fundies......i just don't get them.
This book has just a little too much swagger and takes the usually arrogant Reacher into almost comic book action. I suggest more plot and development less waffle. This is my least favorite Reacher novel and I have bought them all.
A well paced book, totally addictive and very hard to put down. I hope the sequel comes out soon. One of my favorite crime novels of they year.
Daniel Silver really excels with this book, I think it's the best book I have heard this year. The narration helps, George is like honey to the ears. A beautifully balanced story full of intrigue, twists and turns. A must for thriller / spy fans.
As a guitarist and fan of rock I was hoping for a little more detail and grit. I don't care about the reasons Tony got divorced or every drug fueled party but either he has had a quiet life of he denied us the details. It's a hard task to compete with Clapton or Keef's recent books but there must have been more....
Tony is what we all thought him to be, a very decent humble guy.
Narration is a bit home made....which it kinda was.
Another great adventure, the kids are nearly as badass as the parents now. I look forward to the next installment. I hope we get back to New Orleans and more sedate cerebral mystery.
I tried and gave up......I tried very hard to believe in the characters but I simply found myself wanting to find a better book.
One of my all time favorite authors - Adrian grabs me every time. The narration is perfect and I find it hard to stop listening.
Recent books left me annoyed or bored towards the end, not this. A really great character that doesn't make me depressed ((Jo nesbo) and leaves me wanting more. I love the interplay of news events and the accurate feel.
Pete's narration makes the book complete, probably the best of the recent rock bios by a good measure. Pete is brutally honest, well worth a listen, my favorite book of the year.
