"Engaging characters, too much conflict"
The characters are typical Kleypas: likeable, enagaging, well-developed. However, the conflict between the hero and heroine picks up too strongly in the second half of the book and goes on for too long. I kept waiting for the negative tension to be addressed and resolved but it kept going and going. The nature of the conflict is also pretty cringe-worthy and a little heartbreaking.
Despite this, I don't regret spending my credit on this book. The rich characters and unpredictable plot is (eventually) rewarding.
"One of SEP's Best"
This is one of SEP's best novels. I was skeptical from the description but the characters are likable and the plot is relatively plausible. It was definitely worth the credit.
"Fantastic!"
This one of the best books that I've listened to in a long time. Snyder is very talented at balancing action, mystery, fantasy, and romance. The only complaint that I have about this book is that I'll have to wait way too long for the sequel to be published.
