Marjorie Morningstar is a love story. It presents one of the greatest characters in modern fiction: Marjorie, the pretty 17-year-old who left the respectability of New York's Central Park West to join the theater, live in the teeming streets of Greenwich Village, and seek love in the arms of a brilliant, enigmatic writer.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

Too slow. She read sooo slow. I turned the speed to 1 1/2 and it sounded a little better.

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

Can't say...I have only listened to a few chapters.

    Any additional comments?

Herman Wouk is a fantastic author. I love all his books. This is the first I have listened to. I was very disappointed. Have to say I am sorry I used the credits.

Annabelle is tired of being the lone failure in a family of overachievers. She's endured dead-end jobs and a broken engagement. But that's going to change now that she's taken over her late grandmother's matchmaking business. All Annabelle has to do is land the Windy City's hottest bachelor as her client, and she'll be the most sought-after matchmaker in town.

Evanovich fans rejoice! Stephanie Plum is back in town, along with her sidekick Lula, her Grandma Mazur, and an ever-widening cast of freaks, criminals, deranged felons, and lunatics looking for love. And just when Stephanie thinks her life can't get any more complicated, in walks the mysterious Diesel. A man who seems to show up at the most inconvenient moments.

JoAnn Marcon says: "Classic Stephanie Plum"
    "Love all Janet Evanovich books"
    Overall

I don't know what the exact problem was with this audio, but the reader took something away from it. I didn't like her voice for Lula at all. Actually I only listening to half of it. I was going to order the New Janet Evanovich audio but decided I would just buy the book . Pretty disapointed with this one.

First, the unthinkable: a security breach at a secret U.S. government facility unleashes the monstrous product of a chilling military experiment. Then, the unspeakable: a night of chaos and carnage gives way to sunrise on a nation, and ultimately a world, forever altered. All that remains for the stunned survivors is the long fight ahead and a future ruled by fear—of darkness, of death, of a fate far worse.

    "Not about vampires"
    Overall

I was a little hesiant to order this book but decided to take a chance. I loved it. The reader was great and very pleasent to listen to. I think I had the idea it was more about vampires, but it wasn't. The story was very interesting and I have since heard there will be 2 more books. Very happy about that.
