    How did the narrator detract from the book?

    The narrator was speed-reading this book, had no sense of storytelling, and was monotone. She didn't have an understanding for blues music, which could have turned this into a compelling tale, rather than a breakdown of events.
    If you're only interested in the facts of the story of Chess Records, and can block out the traffic reporter-style narration, there is an important story here!
