I didn't expect this to be the second book because book one ended with another lady being taken or lead to the Grant's keep but I absolutely loved Brenna's story. I was listening to the book and immediately thought about Celiac disease. Those kids made me want to laugh and cry at the same time! Loved, loved this book in the series and can't wait for Book 3.
This was a good listen but I didn't like the narrator very much and wished it was someone else. I am looking forward to the other books in this series so I can see what happens with the other jewels and how their story turns out.
I began listening to this book before I realized that there was a book 1, however, I was so enthralled that I could not stop listening. (Note to anyone: it is not advised to listen into the wee hours of the morning when you have to work.) Anyhow Corrie did a good job on the narration and I loved how the story line flowed. Can't wait for book 3 to come so I can see how it all ends and how our villain gets caught! This series is well worth the credits!
It's refreshing and to the point without too much to take us away from the plot. I was happy for that because I love the casebook mysteries of Barnaby Adair. Hoping that Stephanie brings out a series of such stories for our listening pleasure.
I would say mid top, because I am new to this author, however, the series seems to be a good one so I would reserve my opinion until all books have been read/listened to.
The duke of course, being pompous and so damn sure of himself! I understand his attitude and where he was coming from but he could have done a better job getting his point across.
Oh my goodness, sack him! I am hesitant about listening to the other books in the series simply because David Stifel (first time listening), HORRIBLE! I pray he doesn't narrate another historical romance that I have to listen to. His female voice needs a lot of work.
Lord Gareth of course, he came a long way and evolved into a responsible husband and father!
What more can we say? A well written book, we began with a kidnapping, then hopefully a settlement of a debt, then the bedding and uncontrollable passion, the unvailing of a brother, another kidnapping and eventually a marriage!!! All in a day's work! All because some lecherous old man who had a desire for a young girl's mother (who thankfully was wise enough to despise him) and therefore never paying him any attention decided to take his anger and lust out on her. What a miserable piece of work!! Her uncle should be tied, flogged and quartered for agreeing to all this just because it cleared his debt. I can't wait for the other books in this series to see what happens to the other 5 League of Rogues this is including Jonathan whom by all means should have his own love story hopefully after bedding a few mistresses and getting himself in some trouble. Hopefully it is Lord Ashby next!!!
I just wished this book was longer! I loved it from the beginning and wished it had gone on and on for a little more. I loved Lady Anne from the beginning and just knew she would have been perfect for Garrett! If only we could have heard more about him going on to medical school and how everything folded out. I am still quite happy with the ending results however and look forward to reading Charlotte's story next.
Ms London is one of my preferred authors and she did not disappoint me in this one. It made my day during a gloomy rainstorm and kept me from going insane. I loved the characters especially the gardener and his roses that no one can touch. I also loved when the family came to visit from America, hilarious!!! Anne another of my preferred narrator did a great job as always. Well worth the credit!
I should have listened to the reviews. Good lord, we heard more about the Royals of England/Wales whichever more than I wanted to know. We could have done without all that and get to Ann and James' story and romance with a little intrigue thrown in. Priscilla has a good reading voice but her male and female interpretations were killing me! Could have gotten a better book with this credit!
I am wondering if there is another book in the making because we were left with no closure, the Wolf's story has not come out and we need to see if and or when he gets his memory back. We need to know who the man in black is and the finality of the whole story line. Does the McCurran clan get to claim their rights to the castle etc. Can't wait!
