I love the way the book chronicles the history of the kings and queens of England. If you have an interest in the English Monarcy and/or some of the major turning points of England's history, this is the audiobook for you.
This is the second John Harvey novel and I have to say this wasn't as good as the first. There were so many characters introduced that there wasn't enough room in the plot for all of them so there were times that the book jumped around just to make sure they all got a mention in the book. The plot was dry and did not take advantage of the unique plot. Finally the narrator put so much reflection in his voice throughout the narration even during the dramatic parts of the story that it was hard to get through. I fast forwarded through a lot of the dry parts of the audiobook.
