"Droll"
It had potential -- except it stole from too many other vampire, zombie, werewolf stories.
"Way too long"
Could not finish it... way too much to convey so little. Not what I expected.
"Not good for audible"
This provided way more in written form. The story itself is decent, but just does not make for a good audible.
"Classic"
I had forgotten all about this book. It is a true classic -- all the new "end-day" stories are old considering this was written in the early 60s.
"Good"
Not a complete attention grabber -- but was worth the time. Easy to pick back up if laid down.
"Great first hand accounts"
No - I never listen more than once. If it was good, I might read it.
I love everything African... this was cute while at the same time true.
This was my first listen to Antony Ferguson
Honey Badger does care.
"Good listen."
Funny Sweet Revenge
The funeral
Great narrator
Not quite
I listen while gardening or running...it was easy to pick back up after a day or two.
"Get the abridged version!"
Way too long! I got bored half way through -- but was determined to finished it. The abridged version probably would have been just long enough. I generally like Straub, but this was not one of his best. Plus the narrator's tone and diction was not a good match. At first I thought I was listening to some kind of comedy or children's book -- he sounded like Winnie the Pooh.
Probably
Not sure of a name, but someone with a deeper timbor than Lawlor.
Some - just too long.
"Way too verbose"
I like Koontz and the narration was super. But this was way too much like the final Frankenstein. Koontz could have gotten the story told in a much shorter time.
no
It could have done half the time
"Too hard to get in to and get started"
I listened for over an hour and could not get into the story plot... too much stuff at first with references to past -- with no past story line to shore it up. Was lost and the story line was not strong enough to hold my interest. I felt it was a sequal and I should have read or listened to a Part I somewhere.
