My husband has been listening to this book. He says it is a whole different world. It was slow going for him at first but now that he is connected into it--he has completely tuned me out and is listening at every chance. Be warned--lots of profanity
Again the author delivers a good story and lightens up a bit on the official opposition that Hamish endures which makes the storyline more believable and less frustrating. I'll listen to this one again.
I like the Hamish character but the author is very consistent in her portrayal of petty jealousies and hateful snobbery of Scottish village life. Wonder she hasn't been sued by the tourist board.
Death is fired by machinations of the Auditors. The consequences are immediately apparent. The Wizards, the dreaded Mrs. Cake, and others have to figure out what is happening while Death becomes mortal & takes a job.
A satisfying ramble. Death and his granddaughter once again face down the schemes of the dreaded Auditors with help from Time.
Death is having a personal crisis, and music with rocks is causing a riot. It all settles out in the end and an enjoyable listen. The performance is excellent.
A thought provoking book with excellent narration. I first read it 40+ years ago--I've aged, the book has not.
You don't want to rush through this book, take your time and reflect on how it might apply in some way to your own walk.
C.S.Lewis is a literary, spiritual treasure.
Rincewind and the Wizards of Unseen University have a big adventure. The story moves along from one thing to the next quite fun the whole thing.
The Patrician & City Watch are tied up in local and international politics. The city goes to war! A great Terry Pratchett satirical diversion.
DEATH and his granddaughter save Hogswatch on the Disc World. Wizards & Foul 'ole Ron are also there. Lots of fun with a few bits of philosophy worth thinking about. Terry Pratchett always delivers a literate and entertaining diversion.
A good fun mystery with the Patrician, the City Watch & golums. Terry Pratchett is delightfully literate and satirical without being mean-spirited.
