What if your whole world was a lie? What if a single revelation - like a single choice - changed everything? What if love and loyalty made you do things you never expected? The explosive conclusion to Veronica Roth's #1 New York Times best-selling Divergent trilogy reveals the secrets of the dystopian world that has captivated millions of listeners in Divergent and Insurgent.

What would have made Allegiant better?

The first two book of this trilogy was outstanding. I recommend them to everyone. BUT... Just stop at Insurgent and use your own imagination to end the trilogy. Veronica Roth screwed up her attempt. The writer had a intriguing setting, developed characters with intriguing personalities, and even had a plot twist at the begin of this book that would have captivate readers for many years. However, what you go was a cop out. The writer just fizzled at the end of this book. It is like she said "I don't know how to end this, so I will just kill people off and write about everyone's depression and pain."

Would you ever listen to anything by Veronica Roth again?

Probably not, I was left deeply disappointed in her ability to end a great story. I don't want to read about death or coping. Reading is my recreational time. This is the only book/trilogy I recommend knowing the ending before you invest your free time. Plus, the Hungary Games similarities are just too numerous.

Have you listened to any of Emma Galvin and Aaron Stanford ’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I have listened to both of these performers in other books. They did a wonderful job with this trilogy. Emma Galvin has a youthful voice that matched the ages of the characters. Aaron Stanford portrayed Four very well.

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

    Nope. Not a one.

    Any additional comments?

Let's hope that IF this book gets made into a Movie (since Divergent was a great movie) that the producers decide to NOT follow the storyline. This storyline deserves a better ending.

I discovered this series while looking for more books narrated by Marguerite Gavin. What a great find. This is a wonderful story. Marguerite Gavin is outstanding, of course. Carrie Vaughn writes a wonderful tale about a average woman turned werewolf. I recommend this book.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

No, because the narrator is not a good fit for the story/characters. I recommend the book 100% but don't waste your money on the audio, buy the book to read yourself.

Would you be willing to try another one of Gigi Bermingham’s performances?

Not for a VERY long time and only if I can pretend I forgot the way her voice whines.

    Any additional comments?

I am going to write this recording off as taking one for the team. If you love this storyline and Kim Harrison, I would NOT EVER recommend this audible recording because of the narrator and production. Gigi Bermingham kind of ruined Rachel dialog with a constant whining, huffing, puffing, and what felt like complete disgust at times. There were mispronounced words, voice inflections at the wrong parts of the sentences, and then the music at key point in the storyline as if I wouldn't be able to comprehend what was said or written. That was very insulting to me as the listener. Sigh!!! What I can say is that it was a slow and difficult 16hr listen for me. I have never (or rarely) stopped to see how much longer I have in a book while listening but with this one, I constantly check to see how many more hours/minutes/seconds I had before the next book; praying it was almost over. I think I only finished it because I LOVE this storyline and Kim Harrison so much. Plus, listening to three other books during " Gigi breaks" helped. THANK GOD, Marguerite Gavin narrated the next one or I would not be finishing this series.

I totally would recommend this book to anyone. The book is long, 4 parts but Terry Goodkind and Sam Tsoutsouvas make a great team. All around, story, performance, and experience is well done and worth the credits. I am off to listen to book two. Hope you enjoy. :-D

What did you love best about Guilty Pleasures?

I really like the Anita Blake character. She cracks me up with her random thoughts of sarcasm. I can not wait to listen to the next book.

What does Kimberly Alexis bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Kimberly Alexis is wonderful and I would recommend any book read by her. However to explain my low rating for performance; There are these weird back ground sound effects that piped in periodiclly. I am not sure they add anything to the story but the sure did take away from my experience. Whatever their purpose, it failed. This would be my only complaint and I know I wouldn't have experienced them if I had read it myself.

    Any additional comments?

    I would recommend this series.
