  • Lothaire: Immortals After Dark

    • UNABRIDGED (16 hrs and 42 mins)
    • By Kresley Cole
    • Narrated By Robert Petkoff
    • Whispersync for Voice-ready

Driven by his insatiable need for revenge, Lothaire, the Lore’s most ruthless vampire, plots to seize the Horde’s crown. But bloodlust and torture have left him on the brink of madness - until he finds Elizabeth Peirce, the key to his victory. He captures the unique young mortal, intending to offer up her very soul in exchange for power, yet Elizabeth soothes his tormented mind and awakens within him emotions Lothaire believed he could no longer experience.

    Nicola says: "Amazing Book"
What made the experience of listening to Lothaire the most enjoyable?

This book was amazing from the get go, and does not lose steam until the very last page. But what made this book perfect was the narration. Petkoff brings the story to life! This is the most listened to book out of all my audiobooks. I never get tired of listening to it...ever!

What was one of the most memorable moments of Lothaire?

The Prologue of the book and all the scenes between Lothaire and Ellie, ofcourse.

Which character – as performed by Robert Petkoff – was your favorite?

    Definitely Lothaire!

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

That whole scene between Lothaire and Nix. Amazing!!

Lothaire: "Just tell me...tell me what I should have done differently to make her love me?!?"
    Nix: "oh, where to begin....."
    Lothaire: "**** OFF!"

    Any additional comments?

I have enjoyed all the IAD books, but this one has to be the best out of all of them, but I have to say Dreams of a Dark Warrior is a really close second. And because of Robert Petkoff, I can't wait for all of them to come out on audio! Please hurry!

  • Ugly Love

    • UNABRIDGED (9 hrs and 14 mins)
    • By Colleen Hoover
    • Narrated By Grace Grant, Deacon Lee
    • Whispersync for Voice-ready

When Tate Collins meets airline pilot Miles Archer, she doesn't think it's love at first sight. They wouldn't even go so far as to consider themselves friends. The only thing Tate and Miles have in common is an undeniable mutual attraction. Once their desires are out in the open, they realize they have the perfect set-up. He doesn't want love, she doesn't have time for love, so that just leaves the sex.

Missy says: "Another release day dedicated to C. Hoover!"
    "Very Disappointed"

I have to agree with the one reviewer and say this book was awful! I am very disappointed. There was no real connection between the two characters. Miles treated Tate like she meant nothing to him the entire book and Tate let him! I was angry the whole time reading this book telling myself Colleen Hoover better bring this two together in an epic way, she better have him begging, grovelling, have us actually believe that he truly loved Tate as much as he had loved Rachel!! Just something to redeem him so that I could stop seeing him as the jerk he was!! Well, that did not happen, and none of it was convincing enough. I never once felt sorry for Miles because of his past and I couldn't bring myself to sympathize with Tate. If you want to read/listen to an angsty and emotional love story that will tug at your heartstrings, move along, because you will not get that here. Try Sea of Tranquility, Maybe Someday, Archer's Voice.....

  • The Sea of Tranquility: A Novel

    • UNABRIDGED (13 hrs and 10 mins)
    • By Katja Millay
    • Narrated By Kirby Heyborne, Candace Thaxton
    • Whispersync for Voice-ready

Former piano prodigy Nastya Kashnikov wants two things: to get through high school without anyone learning about her past and to make the boy who took everything from her - her identity, her spirit, her will to live - pay. Josh Bennett’s story is no secret: Every person he loves has been taken from his life until, at 17 years old, there is no one left. Now all he wants is be left alone and people allow it because when your name is synonymous with death, everyone tends to give you your space.

Everyone except Nastya, the mysterious new girl at school who starts showing up and won’t go away until she’s insinuated herself into every aspect of his life.

Jennifer says: "There is NOTHING wrong with this book"

I have to say very few audiobooks have made me stop listening for the sole purpose of needing to take a deep breathe, blink back the tears as I wait for the pain/tightness in my chest to subside...and this one did just that (and I have listened to plenty). I came across this book a year ago, read all the rave reviews and then made one negative review prevent me from buying the book. So the other day, as I was looking for something to listen to, I came across it again and this time I decided to get it and I am very very glad I did. As I begun to listen, I almost wished Zachary Webber had narrated Josh's part, I thought he would have been perfect. Kirby Heyborne's voice just wasn't right, he sounded older, and I just wasn't feeling him, but as the story went on, he became Josh and any qualms I had about him went out the window. This was a beautiful and emotional book that I will definitely be listening to again and again. It might seem slow at first, but its so well-written that every word, every sentence just seems right. You will feel their pain, their anguish, their love, their joy, and their laughter. Its definitely in my top 5 audiobooks.

  • Shadowheart: Medieval Hearts, Book 2

    • UNABRIDGED (17 hrs and 50 mins)
    • By Laura Kinsale
    • Narrated By Nicholas Boulton

A fatally dangerous man...and the woman who stands in the way of all he's ever desired. Beautiful and ruthless, the elegant assassin Allegreto will stop at nothing to regain his rightful place. And the perfect instrument has just fallen into his hands, in the lovely form of Lady Elena - the long-lost princess of the land he intends to wrest back from his enemies. But she is no mere maiden to be possessed.

~~ DARA ~~ says: "Another Kinsale Winner!"

It turned out to be one of my favorites. I find I don't have the right words to say how much I enjoyed this book. All I can say is this was a well-written book, and this author always has a way of using words that makes the passion and love between the two characters almost seem tangible. And Allegretto just simply took my breathe away! I am glad I got this book. Its a must-read for any one who enjoys a complex, yet profound love story.

  • The Lion's Lady

    • UNABRIDGED (13 hrs and 26 mins)
    • By Julie Garwood
    • Narrated By Susan Duerden
    • Whispersync for Voice-ready

Christina Bennett had taken London society by storm. The ravishing beauty guarded the secret of her mysterious past until the night Lyon, Marquis of Lyonwood, stole a searching, sensuous kiss. An arrogant nobleman with a pirate's passions, he tasted the wildfire smoldering beneath Christina's cool charm and swore to possess her.... But the feisty and defiant Christina would not be so easily conquered. Mistress of her heart and of her fortune, she resisted Lyon's sensuous caresses.

    Any additional comments?

If somebody had asked me what my favorite romance novel was before reading this book, I would have paused, given it some thought and probably mentioned some of my favorites (Lord of Scoundrels, Bet Me, Passion, The Bride, This Side of Heaven, etc) Now if anyone asks me what my favorite one is I would say without hesitation, Lions’ Lady! I absolutely enjoyed this book! I had always thought The Bride was one of Julie Gardwood’s best books, but this one topped that! It had humor, passion, banter, and heart. I was so engaged in this story that I was starting to vividly picture the characters in my head, and having a huge grin on my face all the while. Christina has to be my favorite heroine ever…she was funny, feisty, vulnerable yet able to hold her own. The interactions between Lyon and Christina have to some of the most enjoyable scenes I have ever listened to/read! And Lyon’s love for Christina was absolutely swoon-worthy. As soon as I finished it, I started to listen to it all over again. At first I thought Rosalyn Landor would have been the better narrator, but I must admit Susan Duerden grew on me and she did an excellent job with the voices. This book has a lot, a lot of whispering moments, and I think she pulled them off very well. I am just glad it was not Anne Flosnik (she ruined ‘The Prize’ for me). I digress. Get this book! You will love it!

  • Stand-In Groom

    • UNABRIDGED (6 hrs and 46 mins)
    • By Suzanne Brockmann
    • Narrated By Kymberly Dakin
    • Whispersync for Voice-ready

They met in the middle of a Boston street mugging. By the time Johnny Anziano helped rescue the new shop-owner on the block, he'd fallen completely in love. But it seemed like the romance was over before it even started. Because in less than a week, Chelsea Spencer was getting married. But then she asked Johnny for a favor that left the aspiring restaurateur reeling - a "business" proposition a man would be a fool to accept - and a damn fool not to.

R says: "Better than i expected!!"
    "Better than i expected!!"

If you are looking for an easy listen that will leave you smiling and feeling good, this is it and definitely worth every penny! No arrogant male hero here as is the case with most romance novels, Johnny is sexy, sweet and kind from the start!! A man every woman would love to marry!! Its worth another listen...or two!
