This audiobook is an "ok" story but the narrator's voice is irritating. I also like to be drawn in by the characters but this book didn't achieve that.
Good plots and sympathetic characters, the king however sounded like a fool which he may have been but not appropriate for his station. More could have been made of Chelynne's age, It was hard to remember she was only 16.
This could have been a good story but it seemed the author was trying to create an audience by using "course" language. I prefer my imagination stimulated more than my ears. The story could have stood on its own without the overly explicit language. Shame, a good story spoilt.
I truly enjoyed this book. Characters were believable and I liked that love blossomed without any explicit sex talk. Tamera Alexander leads you on a realistic path of discovery of the old South. I would buy this author's work again!
AN INTERESTING STORY WELL PLOTTED WITH BELIEVABLE CHARACTERS, THE NARRATOR DETRACTS FROM THE ENJOYMENT OF THE BOOK SOMEWHAT BUT IF YOU CAN OVERLOOK THAT ITS A GOOD READ
Loved the characters hated the villains wanted to see what happened next a real page turner , brilliant!
A well written story with believable characters. Susan Ericksen has a pleasant voice and narrates well.
Written well, believable characters, didn't really capture my imagination, hero wasn't really hero material, sex scenes too explicit, didn't involve my emotions. I love a book that makes me laugh and cry and feel things. Still, worth a listen.
CJ Archer writes well with believable characters and good plots. I wasn't fussed on the narrator but got used to her. Overall an Enjoyable Story.
I liked the series, good plots, believable characters but the narrator didn't suit this story. He made the hero sound gruff and not very attractive at all.
