Mindy Kaling has lived many lives: the obedient child of immigrant professionals, a timid chubster afraid of her own bike, a Ben Affleck–impersonating Off-Broadway performer and playwright, and, finally, a comedy writer and actress prone to starting fights with her friends and coworkers with the sentence “Can I just say one last thing about this, and then I swear I’ll shut up about it?”

Despite the tumor-shrinking medical miracle that has bought her a few years, Hazel has never been anything but terminal, her final chapter inscribed upon diagnosis. But when a gorgeous plot twist named Augustus Waters suddenly appears at Cancer Kid Support Group, Hazel’s story is about to be completely rewritten. Insightful, bold, irreverent, and raw, The Fault in Our Stars is award-winning-author John Green’s most ambitious and heartbreaking work yet, brilliantly exploring the funny, thrilling, and tragic business of being alive and in love.

If you could sum up The Fault in Our Stars in three words, what would they be?

    Laughing cancer poetry.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Hazel. She's so strong and determined. She cares so much. She doesn't make everything about her, even though she's the protagonist, she's still deeply thoughtful and sympathetic. She just cares about her friends and family after she's gone and the story reveals that she's not just another cancer kid to be pitied.

    Which scene was your favorite?

The scene with Hazel and Augustus in Holland, at Anne Frank's house.

What disappointed you about The Daily Show with Jon Stewart Presents America (The Audiobook)?

The book is bone dry. I love Jon Stewart and the Daily show. But there wasn't any humor. The few mildly funny moments were by Samantha Bee. I didn't actually laugh ONCE during the whole audiobook. I just kept waiting for it to get funny, and it didn't.

Has The Daily Show with Jon Stewart Presents America (The Audiobook) turned you off from other books in this genre?

Yes/No. I don't think I will be getting any of Jon Stewart's audio books again. I like the humor genre in general, but this is not humorous.

What aspect of Jon Stewart’s performance would you have changed?

I love his voice but the way the book is written just makes it seem like a bitchy text book.

What character would you cut from The Daily Show with Jon Stewart Presents America (The Audiobook)?

    All of them.

It's just a small story really, about, among other things, a girl, some words, an accordionist, some fanatical Germans, a Jewish fist-fighter, and quite a lot of thievery. Set during World War II in Germany, Markus Zusak's groundbreaking new novel is the story of Liesel Meminger, a foster girl living outside of Munich. Liesel scratches out a meager existence for herself by stealing when she encounters something she can't resist: books.

Would you consider the audio edition of The Book Thief to be better than the print version?

I haven't read the print version but I LOVED this audio version.

What did you like best about this story?

Death's attachment to one little girl. Seeing little snippets of her life. It was all too fantastic to be summed up in a little blurb.

    Which scene was your favorite?

When Leisel is looking for Max in the crowd and finds him. It was so powerful. Also: her attachment to her foster father.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I both laughed and cried. Several dozen times. This book is just that good.

Many consider this rich social commentary to be Jane Austen's finest novel. It is certainly among her more famous ones. Austen sets her entertaining study of manners and misconceptions against the backdrop of a class-conscious society in 18th-century England.

Would you listen to Pride and Prejudice again? Why?

Absolutely. It's one of my all time favorite books.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Elizabeth Bennett. I mean, come on. Of course. Close second - Mr. Darcy.

Have you listened to any of Flo Gibson’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I haven't listened to any of her other narrations but she played all of the characters very distinctly and well. Elizabeth's mom is a little screechy but she also is in print, so it works.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

Hahaha. Seriously? Colin Firth BBC version. Go watch it.

After a foreword from Tony award-winning director and choreographer Jerry Mitchell, Keltie Colleen introduces herself - an average, everyday sort of girl from an average town with average parents. Ever since she can remember, she's wanted to be a dancer. Throughout Rockettes, Rockstars and Rockbottom, we watch Keltie move to New York City and follow her dreams.

Would you consider the audio edition of Rockettes, Rockstars, and Rockbottom to be better than the print version?

I haven't read the print version but I really enjoyed Keltie's narration.

What did you like best about this story?

She's so genuine and earnest. Her vulnerability doesn't come across as weakness, it shows her strength. So many interesting things, written so beautifully.

Which character – as performed by Keltie Colleen – was your favorite?

    Keltie, obvs.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Her miscarriage and subsequent spiral into the party life was really powerful. How she climbed her way out of that and didn't let it make her bitter is inspiring.

    Top 5.

I loved her voice. It lended itself very nicely to this story.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Several. You know she loved Ernest and he loved her but she had to let him go. Beautiful.

It is Nick and Amy Dunne's fifth wedding anniversary. Presents are being wrapped and reservations are being made when Nick's clever and beautiful wife disappears from their rented McMansion on the Mississippi River. Husband-of-the-Year Nick isn't doing himself any favors with cringe-worthy daydreams. Under mounting pressure from the police and the media - as well as Amy's fiercely doting parents - the town golden boy parades an endless series of lies, deceits, and inappropriate behavior. Nick is oddly evasive, and he's definitely bitter - but is he really a killer?

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

I might recommend this book depending on the friend. It takes a while to get adjusted to all of the bickering and back and forth.

Would you be willing to try another book from Gillian Flynn? Why or why not?

I don't think I would. I wasn't very invested in the characters. The twists were good but they'd be better if I cared more about the characters.

Have you listened to any of Julia Whelan and Kirby Heyborne ’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

No, I have not listened to their other narrations but this narration was very good. Good voices, cadence, accents.

Did Gone Girl inspire you to do anything?

    No.
