The second Dune installment explores new developments on the planet Arrakis, with its intricate social order and strange, threatening environment. Dune Messiah picks up the story of the man known as Muad'Dib, heir to a power unimaginable, bringing to fruition an ambition of unparalleled scale: the centuries-old scheme to create a superbeing who reigns not in the heavens but among men. But the question is: DO all paths of glory lead to the grave?

This is a tale of sorrow, a tale of survival, a tale of one man's search for meaning in his universe, and how that search, and the indomitable will that drove it, gave birth to a legend.

Would you consider the audio edition of The Name of the Wind to be better than the print version?

No, the audio version is very well performed, but everything in my head is better.

What did you like best about this story?

I really don't know. Nothing really happens in the story, but it draws me in. How can a story about nothing be so excellent?! Tells you how good the writing is.

Have you listened to any of Nick Podehl’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

This is my first book read by him.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I get really excited at some parts, ex: 'Oh my gosh, he's going to class now, what!?"

Here is the novel that will be forever considered a triumph of the imagination. Set on the desert planet Arrakis, Dune is the story of the boy Paul Atreides, who would become the mysterious man known as Maud'dib. He would avenge the traitorous plot against his noble family and would bring to fruition humankind's most ancient and unattainable dream.

    Joshua says: "Wonderful production!"
"It was like listening to a play! Great casting."

Would you listen to Dune again? Why?

Yes, I would. The performance was great by all of the characters and the story had so many twists, that it would be great for a re-read.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Alia Atreides. How she came to be and how she interacted with people was interesting.

Have you listened to any of the narrators’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

    no.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I would if I could. This book is very long, but I never wanted to stop listening!
