FitzChivalry - royal bastard and former king’s assassin - has left his life of intrigue behind. As far as the rest of the world knows, FitzChivalry Farseer is dead and buried. Masquerading as Tom Badgerlock, Fitz is now married to his childhood sweetheart, Molly, and leading the quiet life of a country squire. Though Fitz is haunted by the disappearance of the Fool, who did so much to shape Fitz into the man he has become, such private hurts are put aside in the business of daily life, at least until the appearance of menacing, pale-skinned strangers casts a sinister shadow over Fitz’s past...and his future.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

This is just a good book, hard to stop listening.

What did you like best about this story?

I think this is the best book in the entire series. With the introduction of BEE, there is new and refreshing theme as Fitz struggles with old and new challenges. So sorry that is is over and now have to wait parts 2 and 3

What about Elliot Hill’s performance did you like?

Wonderful story teller and able to speak in many voices. certainly his telling enhances an already wonderful story.

  • Wild: From Lost to Found on the Pacific Crest Trail (Oprah's Book Club 2.0)

At 22, Cheryl Strayed thought she had lost everything. In the wake of her mother's death, her family scattered and her own marriage was soon destroyed. Four years later, with nothing more to lose, she made the most impulsive decision of her life: to hike the Pacific Crest Trail from the Mojave Desert through California and Oregon to Washington State - and to do it alone. She had no experience as a long-distance hiker, and the trail was little more than “an idea, vague and outlandish and full of promise.” But it was a promise of piecing back together a life that had come undone.

Would you listen to Wild again? Why?

Finding threads of my own experience in Wild, I definitely will return to trek the PCT with Cheryl again, using her time on the trail to look at my own personal demons.

What did you like best about this story?

Toting an overfull backpack for over 1100 miles is a grueling experience. I loved that fact that she would never give up. Each step bringing her closer to her destination both inner and outer.

What does Bernadette Dunne bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Not sure if she was the best person to read the book, I did have trouble at first with her voice and personality and fitting that with how I imagined Cheryl

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I laughed and cried all along the trail, especially at the end. I didn't want the journey to be over.

    Any additional comments?

Made me want to get out my pack and start hiking the PCT right away.

"My name is Kvothe. I have stolen princesses back from sleeping barrow kings. I burned down the town of Trebon. I have spent the night with Felurian and left with both my sanity and my life. I was expelled from the University at a younger age than most people are allowed in. I tread paths by moonlight that others fear to speak of during day. I have talked to Gods, loved women, and written songs that make the minstrels weep...."

I love this book, loved the first one. Its just hard to wait for the next in this series. On the other hand, with the long wait, it just means I get to listen to both books again.
