What a rare treat to read a story that does not follow a formulaic plot. This book was intriguing, with twists and turns on every page. I found it fascinating. It was both a love story and an interesting and plausible consideration of our inner selves. The narration was excellent and the story meaningful.
This was a GREAT BOOK, from the first sentence to the last. I found myself captivated at the weaving of stories, past and present. Full of twists, turns and surpirses, the writing never failed to keep me intrigued. The narration was excellent. At the end, I was crying and laughing and full of that feeling that only comes from a truly satisfying book.
I have loved the Black Dagger series and passed over this novel time and again. Finally, when I thought I had run out of good books, I decided to give this one a listen. I loved it from the moment I started listening. Good narration, great story. I can't wait for more Fallen Angels to appear.
I enjoyed listening to Dance with the Devil so much I thought this book would match my enjoyment. I was sorely disappointed. The characters lacked depth, the plot wavered. It seemed like every time there was a "tense" moment, a new character would be introduced to veer the plot in a new direction. Good narration but still...
I loved this audiobook! The characters were rich and complex, the narration was fantastic. I even started it over the minute I was done. A good read for those who like the hot-sexy fantasy genre.
Boy, I read the whole Incarnations of Immortality series and loved it! What rich writing! I expected more of the same from this series but could not even get through Part 1. It just ho-hummed along. The narration was flat, the story was flat. Flat, flat, flat. Narration was like listening to the reading of an instructional manual.
Fascinating story! Felt like I was immersed in the Amish culture. Characters were interesting, story was well thought out and unique, narration was good. Kept me enthralled throughout.
I loved the first book - Poison Study - but this one left me cold. Story lacks depth. Narrator reads like she is reading a technical manual. I never felt compelled, enthralled, on the edge of my seat...it was more like, "Oh, now Yelena is in this mess, now she is in this one." I hope the author re-groups for the next book.
A good read for a summer day. I'm hooked on this series! The narration was excellent, the story quirky and unique. I want to read ALL of this author's fun series.
