I liked the in-depth coverage of what's harmful to the body and how it harms the body. Workable solutions were offered and although my antennae go up when I hear recommendations of supplements because someone's going to profit from them, this book offered other ways to prevent and treat these harmful poisons.
The book also suggested many ways to avoid these toxins and ways to keep the body healthy to dilute or prevent the effects of toxins.
I liked how the book spoke in detail about specific things that toxins do to the body. Now I understand why mercury, lead, MSG and DDT, for example, are so harmful, and why I should have my amalgam fillings removed.
He spoke clearly and slowly and pronounced very difficult words in an unhurried way. Nice tone too. I think this was a difficult book to read, given its scientific sections which could have sounded dull. His inflections kept the subject interesting.

I'm keeping this book so's I can hear it again later. There was a lot to digest. I wouldn't recommend this to someone who didn't have an interest in biology as there was a lot of in-depth information at the cellular level.
I enjoyed listening to the book, although it was not so much a teaching manual as a glimpse into a dedicated athlete/trainer's life. Although I kept waiting for more suggestions in how to keep fit, I found myself mesmerized by his life experience and the interesting way he related it. Perhaps I have absorbed motivating tips without realizing it.

Yes. If he could give me more specific ideas for exercises, how to avoid injuries and workouts to do in my own home, I'd have a look at it. The gym is too far away to be practical and a trainer is too expensive, so I need something that will work for me at home.
I greatly admire Vinnie's stamina and determination. Hearing how he tries so hard is motivating and hearing his reading is authentic. I liked hearing the writer at the end as well. Maybe I should give it four stars, yeah, I'm going to change that. You know what? Historical author Barbara Tuchman has a sign over her desk that states: "Does the reader want to turn the page?" I wanted to "turn the page" on this book.
If he wrote another book and put more fitness tips in it I'd probably buy it.
Yes. Well-narrated and interesting. Good suggestions which I am following, for example: metabolism remains higher after working out in bursts followed by periods of rest, when compared with a session of steady-state exercise, like jogging at the same pace for the same length of time.
Also, a person should eat as soon after exercising as possible so that the body doesn't break down its own tissues to build up the muscle. Both the nutrition section and workout section were very good and motivating.
The Zone books by Barry Sears, because of the great discussions on diet and exercise and how they relate to each other.
