There are some odd things about Nate’s new apartment. Of course, he has other things on his mind. He hates his job. He has no money in the bank. No girlfriend. No plans for the future. So while his new home isn’t perfect, it’s livable. The rent is low, the property managers are friendly, and the odd little mysteries don’t nag at him too much. At least, not until he meets Mandy, his neighbor across the hall, and notices something unusual about her apartment. And Xela’s apartment. And Tim’s. And Veek’s.

What did you love best about 14?

Not my typical genre but the storyline was interesting and the book was well paced with few parts that dragged on needlessly. Well written and imaginative.

Have you listened to any of Ray Porter’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

This is my first exposure to Mr. Porter. He did a great job.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

I like the character development in general. Distinct and I was able to conjure up great visuals of how each character would look. I like when that happens. I especially liked the banter of Nate and Veek and their humorous sides.

Lisbeth Salander—the heart of Larsson’s two previous novels—lies in critical condition, a bullet wound to her head, in the intensive care unit of a Swedish city hospital. She’s fighting for her life in more ways than one: if and when she recovers, she’ll be taken back to Stockholm to stand trial for three murders. With the help of her friend, journalist Mikael Blomkvist, she will not only have to prove her innocence, but also identify and denounce those in authority.

If you could sum up The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest in three words, what would they be?

    Interesting, riveting and satisfying

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

Yes, very interesting with unusual twists. Predicable at other times. Overall, a great read

What does Simon Vance bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Simon Vance did a great job and I felt he captured each character to their fullest!

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

I was particularily moved by the trial ending as well as when she finally let Mikael back in her life.

    Any additional comments?

Wish there was a fourth book!! Lizbeth Salinder is a VERY interesting character! The third and final book is my second favorite of the series! The trial was one of my favorite parts. Vindication finally! I wish there was a 4th book!

Boston Red Sox closing pitcher Tom Gordon becomes Trisha's imaginary companion - and the key to her survival against an unidentified someone (or something) leaving death and destruction in its wake.
