"Poor Alex Hawke!"
Poor Alex Hawke, he does not seem able to keep his mates alive. Then he goes into a terrible self destructive dive and then miracles, he recovers to work on another problem. The theme is getting old. The whole book seemed to be very formula driven. It was a difficult to listen to since it seemed so mechanical. I normally like Ted Bell style of writing but this book could have been by any thrill writer. I am probably done with listening to this series.
"Alex Cross Returns"
I have to confess that I am an Alex Cross groupie and I love reading about his life, family and his entire life. This book was WAY too short on details and I was a little disappointed. It was interesting that there were 2 different story lines but I think both of them could have been explored in a little more detailed. This might have been an opportunity to explore the mindset and dedication of the radical muslims and help the American public get a better understanding of what drives fanatics. I think the title is decieving, I kept waiting for some aggressive move on Alex. Maybe James Patterson got sick of people trying to kill Alex. Not one of "I just can't wait to see what happens next" books but still good entertainment.
"What a entertaining story"
I picked up this book on sale and did not think ir would be that good. Was I wrong! It is a well written intriguing story line. Some of the male lead activities are too good to be true. Almost Forrest Gumpish. I was drawn in though and found many reasons to finish listening to the story. Well worth the time!
"Walt is back!"
I love George Guidall and he is Walt. I could listen to him all day and have bought books just because he was the narrator. With that being said, I was bit disappointed that the full cast of characters did not have a bigger part in the book. It is the whole cast that make these books so entertaining. This is also the first book I actually questioned some of Walt's actions. It seemed that the book was a little on the short side but that may be because I never want them to end;. Still worth the time and money.
