"Not one of King's best, but very good."
A good story by one of my favorite authors. The dual narration worked well with Blair Brown doing an excellent job and King average as a narrator, switching back and forth really worked with the story. I could have done without the music which was very annoying. I also enjoyed the "real" parts of the story more than the "fantasy" and thought the ending was a little slow; but definitely worth a listen.
"Great Story!"
I was very surprised at some of the negative reviews. People who think of King only as a horror writer should listen to, or read this book. Great characters and an excellent story. Very well narrated, and well worth the listen.
"Great story and Narration."
Grisham always tells an excellent story, and this is no exception. An excellent book, and very well narrated by Mr. Muller.
"Great Book"
Koontz is one of my favorites, and this is one of his best. Great story that keeps you coming back for more. Sollid narration.
"Great Story, So So audio Book."
The first time I read this story I couldn't put it down, I read it in one night. Unfortunately the audio book, much like the made for TV movie was dissapointing. The music was annoying as were many of the narrator's voices. Still I gave it 4 starts because it's such a well written story by King and worth a listen .
"Well Paced Story."
Not one of my favorites from Koontz, but solid narration, and kept me listening. A good story of good vs evil.
"Simply the best"
This was the first audiobook I purchased. I'm a big King fan and this had always been one of my favorites (both the novel and the mini series are great.) I thoroughly enjoyed this audiobook and soon realized I was spoiled by this being my first "listen." I have continued to purchase audiobooks and have enjoyed them, but to this point I feel as this one is still my favorite. Along with the fact that this is an unbelievably great story, the narrator is the best I;ve heard. This is the longest book I've listened too and yet I wish it was longer, I didn't want 'It" to end.
"Not bad"
I agree with some other reviews I've read. This is not one of Koontz's best. You can tell it's an early work. Still, a good listen.
"One of my favorites"
This has always been one of my favorite novels and doesn't dissapoint in audio form. I love the movie, but the best thing about the movie is mainly what a great job Jack Nicholson does playing the psycho. The novel is so much better and so much more in depth. Actually the mini series made later on is closer to the book, it's just hard to picture the main character as anyone other than Nicholson. The narrator does an excellent job and this story will keep you coming back for more.
"Great insight"
I'm a big sports fan, especially the Boston teams and I grew up watching this great rivalry. Still, sports books have never been my main read (usually King, Koontz, Grisham) and I only bought this because it was on special. Very glad I did. Jackie M. has always been a great writer and the fact that Bird and Magic were involved in writing the book, seemed to make a big difference. My favorite thing was hearing a lot of the little facts about different players and situations that you would never know. Solidly narrated this book brought back a lot of great memories of my childhood watching these 2 amazing players.
