Yes - Here is why - this teaching is profound. It gives examples of handling people in a way I have never been taught. It also teaches that a leader has a lot of responsibility but provides a very proven path to leading people well. Also, from a Christian perspective, it gives an idea of how God looks at us. Every person so far, who I have been teaching about this or given books away on shepherding has reported that they have gained in life.
My favorite Character was Dr. Neuman. He is the man that taught Ted McBride, the man who wanted to have this book written so others could get the benefits and the great life he enjoyed. Mr. McBride worked his way up through the ranks and moved into the helm of a fortune 50 company with the highest retention rate of the all the fortune 50 companies. The reason was, he lead his people like a very good shepherd leads his sheep and Dr. Neuman taught him.
Marc, has a good voice and seems to appreciate what he is reading. This helps us to absorb the teaching. I rarely want to master a topic, but this book being read to me has me wanting to become a professional in leadership, not just for my own benefit, but to give the best experience to others who I lead.
No, only because I am not that way. I limit my time and listen when it fits.
There are only a few books I have read in my life that are must reads to me and this is one of them. I have a successful business and I am also a Pastor. My application is a bit different than many but when I gave a similar book away to different people going through hard times, all reported they got a better understanding of who God was. On another side to this book, it presents a message that lies hidden in it about who Jesus, the good shepherd is and what he has to offer our souls. My entire life on that plane alone has been changed. Hard ship no longer hurts like it used to. All of my people in church are seeing life in an improved way. My customers and friends who were hurting all reported gaining in perspective on their hard time and got comfort seeing God in a better way towards them. I noticed one lady in particular became a lot more settled in life. For today this is the best I can share.
I don't have the print version.
He has lots of experience on the topic.
Yes. This is the first book I have listened to on Audible so far that I wish I could process all at once.
I have a friend who is applying a similar book of his, Love and Respect to her marriage. She is a very smart lady who graduated first in her class. She also got 2 businesses going in the past and sold the property for around $365,000.00. She is lady with a lot of talent and capable of being in command. By applying principles like out lined in this teaching, she said recently, My husband is becoming the man I tried to make him. The only difference in her life is she is applying principles that just happen to be defined in the bible. This lady is watching her husband change into a very loving, kind, thoughtful, incredible man towards her. The only difference in her life is this, she is applying principles that came from the bible. It was kind of sad to see so many looking for help and then rejecting it because scripture was stated. In regards to this book, I listened to only part of this with my future wife. We already got some very good information to make our relationship better. With seeing the results in myself and other people with these principles, if some one actually wants a change for the better in their marriage or potential mate, I recommend this highly. Myself, I prefer to learn from others who already know a proven path. If the bible is part of that and it is working, why be bothered. I think to myself, is a failed marriage or miserable one more desirable than help that works if someone will apply it? I look for the easier road rather than the harder one. I like peace and if that involves me learning something knew, even if based on the bible, I want the peace. I want an exceptional marriage, not just a relationship of existence or worse.

For me, the most memorable moment was the section on what I need to be for my wife. This book really puts God's standard on the table. In the churches I have been too in Maine, the family really has never been stressed. What I have seen from the pulpit is the family is second to ministry and this is wrong. Even in bible school, it was totally neglected. This book gave me a direction to go in or as I like to teach at church, a pattern that is God's pattern. It has changed my life for the better and those around me.
There are so many. It is hard to pin point but I will sum up this way. Before I got this audio book, I had been teaching in church that we had to master our positions in the family. By mastering, I mean have them down like a professional ball player would have his position down. This book starts off that way and basically, the entire book is encouraging us to master our postion as a Godly man. I just gave a panaramic picture of "my favorite" scene, Become a professional at my position.
No, it is six hours plus.
I'll say this, I am a pastor. Since I started focusing on God and our relationship with him first in church, family second no matter what, friends and other parts of life third, our families are being transformed. In some situations, prayer is all that has been done as we can't witness to our families. The prayers and this new attitude of the value our families have to us, is transforming the lives of the people we care about most. When I began to focus on this, the Lord had me teach that the ones we care about most are often the ones we take the most for granted. Put them in a casket and the real value begins to surface. We have all taken it seriously and the effect is incredible. Here is why Jesus had me go that way, the first attack was on the husband and wife, then the kids. We are restoring God's natural order or pattern. When the pattern is right, life becomes so much better. One very smart business lady who comes to church wants to serve Christ desperately but she told me she had never been taught her role as a Godly wife. Well, all I can say is this, as she moves into her Godly spot as a woman, her marriage is becoming what many woman wish they had. The difference is she is wanting desperately to serve Christ his way and the results are incredible to watch.
