  • The Collected: Jonathan Quinn, Book 6

    • UNABRIDGED (9 hrs and 42 mins)
    • By Brett Battles
    • Narrated By Scott Brick

A cleaner’s tasks are simple: get rid of the body so that it will never be found, and make the scene of the kill look like nothing happened. Rule Number One: Don’t get caught. With Jonathan Quinn’s career in question, his apprentice Nate has successfully taken on the role of full-fledged cleaner, using Quinn’s name to keep the business working seamlessly in case his boss decides to return. But Nate’s latest job is not what it seems, and he finds himself on the wrong side of a trap.

reena says: "Battles Runs True to Form: Excellent"
"Another great story in the Quinn series"

I have thoroughly enjoyed the progression of this series, and how the characters have evolved. Starting the novel from a different perspective than what I was anticipating was fantastic, and again Brett has put together an engaging, exciting storyline. The ending is riveting!

Scott Brick is a fantastic narrator as usual, bringing that comfort and familiarity of the characters past with him, and makes listening a pleasure.

I highly recommend this book if you have enjoyed any previous ones in the series, or simply enjoy a look into the sub-culture of the espionage/assassin/hitman genres.

  • Kill Decision

    • UNABRIDGED (13 hrs and 6 mins)
    • By Daniel Suarez
    • Narrated By Jeff Gurner
    • Whispersync for Voice-ready

Linda McKinney is a myrmecologist, a scientist who studies the social structure of ants. Her academic career has left her entirely unprepared for the day her sophisticated research is conscripted by unknown forces to help run an unmanned - and thanks to her research, automated - drone army. Odin is the secretive Special Ops soldier with a unique insight into the faceless enemy who has begun to attack the American homeland with drones programmed to seek, identify, and execute targets.

Madeleine says: "What's that droning sound?"
"Daniel Suarez is getting even better..."
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

If you enjoyed the 'Daemon' series by Suarez, you are sure to like this story as well. Daniel has such a good grasp on modern technology - from chemistry to electronics - it makes his stories impressively real. If you are a tech junkie, and like his style, you will love the book. Jeff Gurner as the narrator was 10/10 - amazing. Wish he did more in this genre. A must-listen.

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

Great storyline, with very believable tech-angles

  • Divine Justice

    • UNABRIDGED (11 hrs and 37 mins)
    • By David Baldacci
    • Narrated By Ron McLarty
    • Whispersync for Voice-ready

Known by his alias, "Oliver Stone," John Carr is the most wanted man in America. With two pulls of the trigger, the men who destroyed Stone's life and kept him in the shadows were finally silenced. But his freedom comes at a steep price: The assassinations he carried out prompt the highest levels of the U.S. government to unleash a massive manhunt. Behind the scenes, master spy Macklin Hayes is playing a very personal game of cat and mouse. He, more than anyone, wants Stone dead.

Graham S. Stafford says: "Love the Camel Club"
    "Good Story, Terrible Narration"

What a mixed bag of an audiobook. While I enjoyed the storyline, the narration was awful! The narrator seemed to have all sorts of awkward pauses, and emphasis on the wrong part of the sentence, making listening tiring. Too bad Ron McLarty ruined a good story!
