I love all of these books. I guess it helps that I'm from Atlanta and have had to suffer through quite a few TERRIBLE southern accents, and Cassandra Campbell does a great job of affecting the accent without throwing the entire south into the boonies.
When I first bought the paperback book about 6 years ago I had expected more sex, but by the time I got engrossed in all of the men in Carlotta's life I was just as enthralled by all of the sexual tension! Jeeze.
Anyway. I love these books. There're more coming out next year, and I can't wait. Go for it.
Oh, and I almost never know who the "bad guy" is. It's ridiculous. I re-listen to these more frequently than I do any other books in my library.
Absolutely start listening to this series.
The Narrator does a great job with the southern accent (Raised in Atlanta, I've heard my fair share of the "southern" accent...)
The characters are witty and entertaining. Always keeping me guessing and laughing.
I heard a rumor about these books a long time ago and I'm not gonna lie... I saw the cover and thought to myself... nope.
And then this past year I was bored and came across the books again... and they've blown me away.
1: the story is amazing
2: Davina Porter is my FAVORITE narrator
These are fantastic stories.
Apparently they're planning on making a movie... and I can't imagine that it will hold a candle... or even a matchflame to the books.
