The overly scientific, always respectable, and socially awkward Alexander Banks has just been informed his name resides on a betrothal agreement right above the name of the worst chit in all of England. With a loophole that allows him to marry another without consequence before the thirtieth anniversary of his birth, Alex has only four weeks to find another woman and make her his wife. Being the logical scientist he is, Alex decides to take his friend's advice and treat his quest for a bride just like a science experiment...

Would you try another book from Rose Gordon and/or B. F. Laskar?

I would try other books but I'd read Rose Gordon for myself.

How could the performance have been better?

Yes. The narrator made this book painful to listen to. It was very monotone and sounded like one long run on sentence. There was no feeling and proper pauses. I could only listen to a few chapters before I returned it. I'd rather buy it and read it on my kindle.

Why we think it’s a great listen: An all-time Audible favorite that mixes historic fiction, adventure, and romance with one of the most fascinating literary devices: time travel. Outlander introduces an exhilarating world of heroism and breathtaking thrills as one woman is torn between past and present, passion and love. In 1945, former combat nurse Claire Randall returns from World War II and joins her husband for a second honeymoon. But their blissful reunion is shattered....

What did you love best about Outlander?

Its hard to choose what I love the best. This is a well rounded book. Very solid story, plot and characters. Definately time travel done right.

What does Davina Porter bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I own the first 4 books in the series. Read the books till they fell apart and then bought them again. Davina Porter adds that extra bit of enjoyment that only having a story read to you can. Her voice gives the characters more depth and brings them to life. Many times I just sit on the couch and I'm transported to another place and time. I feel like I'm in the Scotish Highlands with all its sights, sounds and smells. Evoks the same feeling of wondering that I had as a child listening to stories being told.
