"Fun and exciting and then..."
I loved the idea around this book; investigating an old house and finding out secrets...and the story stayed riveting three quarters of the way through..I wanted to know more aobut each mystery...but then it just seemed to just grind away...
"hated it"
Yes the character development was good and I learned alot about the dogs but it went on and on and didn't get anywhere....
"the characters are so negative"
I felt sorry for the characters. The story was scary and exciting but characters were more negative than I thought they should have been. It was a very enjoyable but dark story, with a "surprise ending"
"so very good...riveting"
I loved this story and couldn't wait to get in my car to drive to work so I could hear more! it brought back fond memories of my childhood and reminded me that often children are so very wise.
"how fun!"
I really enjoyed this story. I couldn't wait to find out what happened next. It was well worth my time. Joe Hill has his own style and once I got over the fact that he isn't his dad I really liked his own unique style.
"Starts out good but I had enough after a while"
The main characters had well quirky personalities and I enjoyed them very much. They showed great humor in the face of poverty and violence. The overall story grew tiresome after some time. Maybe it should have ended sooner. Maybe i'm just not into aliens...or maybe it was the narrator?
"Good story"
family intrigue, horror, and mystery. I enjoyed this story quite a bit and often couldn't wait to get back to it. The narration was well done as well. The voodoo was interesting but not overwhelming.
"Best of King"
This is perfection...To hear Stephen Kings words made this book come so alive for me. The story combines elements that I love, family intrigue, horror, mystery, the ocean, and best of all-the interactions between friends. I just love Kings converational style...loved it, loved it, loved it!
