Although the plot has some rough spots, this book is a good example of how putting the right narrator with the right author can help compensate for weak points. Scott Sowers has an incredible range of voices that makes the characters come alive. Hart does a nice job of creating the backstories for the characters so that their actions are credible. Some plot points are a stretch, but the story works in the end. Overall, a good audio book that moves along smoothly.
The plot is fairly predictable, but the execution of the narrative is the reason you read/listen to a Vince Flynn book. George Guidall is excellent as the narrator and makes listening to the story a fun experience. People who like Flynn will love this and people who haven't tried Flynn might be a little confused by the characters. The cast is pretty much the same as other "Assassin" books and Flynn doesn't bore his regular readers by reconstructing his characters, but newbies might not understand or appreciate some of the conflict between characters. So it is a good book but not one that new Flynn readers should start with.
