I listened to this book after hearing Roy Jenkins' excellent biography of Churchill (also on Audible) and found it a fine companion. I highly recommend listening to the Churchill biography before tackling this book. I found the narration excellent. Highly recommended.
The story, of course, is magnificent, but I had to give up after two disks due to the incredibly poor narration. The guy plods along at a snail's pace and his intonation got to be like listening to fingernails on a chalkboard. For a book this long, it's cruel and unusual punishment to have to listen to it presented in this fashion. If another version were available, I'd try it again in a heartbeat, but I simply couldn't listen to this guy.
