  • Intensity: A Novel

    • UNABRIDGED (11 hrs and 35 mins)
    • By Dean Koontz
    • Narrated By Kate Burton

Past midnight, Chyna Shepherd, 26, gazed out a moonlit window, unable to sleep on her first night in the Napa Valley home of her best friend's family. Instinct proves reliable. A murderous sociopath, Edgler Forman Vess, has entered the house, intent on killing everyone inside. A self-proclaimed "homicidal adventurer", Vess lives only to satisfy all appetites as they arise, to immerse himself in sensation, to live without fear, remorse, or limits, to live with intensity.

Connie says: "One of the best Koontz Books!"
"Dean, What Have You Done to Me?"

I've NEVER experience anything like this! Almost TOO INTENSE. Dean, what have you done to me?

  • The Help

    • UNABRIDGED (18 hrs and 19 mins)
    • By Kathryn Stockett
    • Narrated By Jenna Lamia, Bahni Turpin, Octavia Spencer, and others
    • Whispersync for Voice-ready

Why we think it’s a great listen: The most celebrated performance in all of Audible’s history, The Help has nearly 2,000 5-star reviews from your fellow listeners. We hear the print book’s not bad, either. In pitch-perfect voices, Kathryn Stockett creates three extraordinary women whose determination to start a movement of their own forever changes a town, and the way women - mothers, daughters, caregivers, friends - view one another.

Jan says: "What a great surprise!"
    "Must-Own, Must-Share"

When a book touches your heart in so many ways, you know it's special. The Help lifted my spirit, yet broke my heart...made me laugh out loud and made me cry in secret, but not just with its' was also due to the amazing art of the narrators. They SHARED their story with me. This book was unlike any I've listened to in along time, and maybe ever.

  • The Windup Girl

    • UNABRIDGED (19 hrs and 34 mins)
    • By Paolo Bacigalupi
    • Narrated By Jonathan Davis
    • Whispersync for Voice-ready

Anderson Lake is a company man, AgriGen's Calorie Man in Thailand. Under cover as a factory manager, Anderson combs Bangkok's street markets in search of foodstuffs thought to be extinct, hoping to reap the bounty of history's lost calories. There, he encounters Emiko...Emiko is the Windup Girl, a strange and beautiful creature. One of the New People, Emiko is not human; instead, she is an engineered being, creche-grown and programmed to satisfy the decadent whims of a Kyoto businessman.

Marius says: "Al Gore nightmare meets Blade Runner."
"I wish I never got it cause I sure never got it"

I don't get it. Why has this book received such praise. It went on and on about things of such little interest. By the end of the book I just didn't care. I must have missed something, because I sure don't get it.

  • A Dirty Job

    • UNABRIDGED (11 hrs and 49 mins)
    • By Christopher Moore
    • Narrated By Fisher Stevens
    • Whispersync for Voice-ready

People start dropping dead around Charlie, giant ravens perch on his building, and it seems that everywhere he goes, a dark presence whispers to him from under the streets. Strange names start appearing on his nightstand notepad, and before he knows it, those people end up dead, too. Yup, it seems that Charlie Asher has been recruited for a new job, an unpleasant but utterly necessary one: Death.

    colleen says: "I loved it!"
    "Freedom of it's WORST!"

It's as if this book was written by some teenage kid who has just learned about "Freedom of Speech", and is exercising his FREEDOM by bombarding his audience with the foulist profanities and the most unintelligent trash he could come up with. This is suppose to be COMEDY? Well, I think the author is laughing in our faces with disbelief that ANY reader could think this deserves an AWARD, let alone be read!

  • The Millionaires

    • UNABRIDGED (14 hrs and 58 mins)
    • By Brad Meltzer
    • Narrated By Scott Brick
    • Whispersync for Voice-ready

Charlie and Oliver Caruso are brothers who work at Greene & Greene, a private bank so exclusive you need two million dollars just to be a client. But when the door of success slams in their faces, they're faced with an offer they can't refuse: three million dollars in an abandoned account. No one knows it exists, and even better, it doesn't belong to anyone.

Glenn says: "EASILY as good as Grisham"
    "WOW!...What a SHOW!"

This is not just a book...IT'S A SHOW!

I'll bet the biggest fan of this book is Scott Brick, the narrator. He reads this book as if he wants to share with us all the excitement and pleasure that he received when he first read it. Brad Meltzer wrote quite a gem, and Scott Brick made it shine with brilliance.

Add this treasure to your audio's PRICELESS!
