"so slow"
this book was really slow and I couldn't care less what was going to happen next. I found that I had a hard time paying attention to it and my mind would wander - even during parts that were supposed to be suspenseful or exciting. I didn't care enought to rewind the parts that I missed. the only reason I listened through to the end was so I could find out Lena's fate. I was disappointed.
I think if there's a 3rd book, I'll pass. I no longer care what happens to these kids.
"a real "page turner""
this book was really moving and I liked the narrators. I will read this again one day.
"good story, didn't like narrator"
I kind of wished I read the hard copy instead of listening to it as an audiobook. the story begins with calla lily as a small girl, so the first few hours you have to endure a narrator with a mature woman's voice trying to talk like a little girl. the effect is pretty annoying.
it gets better after calla becomes a teenager.
the story is good though, which is why I gave it 3 stars. I encourage people to listen to a sample before they buy!
