I've read almost every word Ayn Rand has ever written, and this is by far her magnus opus (though she would have disagreed). "Capitalism: The Unknown Ideal" is not simply a book about economics; Rand covers the rights of man, the nature of government (borrowed from "The Virtue of Selfishness"), and builds a picture of what a moral society would value. From this premise, Rand then discusses the only moral system of economics possible: capitalism. Phenomenal book for conservatives, liberals, and ESPECIALLY, the "moderates". I couldn't recommend this book more!
This is a terrific history book. The authors clearly went to great effort to provide an accurate historical account of our great nation, and without the typical propaganda (either left or right). Still, the reader of this book was absolutely AWFUL! So sad to see such a historical masterpiece go down in audio flames.
