"If you liked the Help, then this is for you!"
The story was believable the entire way. You can just feel each characters emotions and sometimes their helplessness. I was given enough information to really picture each person.
Belle. The food she prepared sounded wonderful. I'd like her recipes, but more importantly, I'd want to know how she survived without her son.
Thoroughly enjoyed listening to this book and have recommend it to friends.
"Brave Woman!"
This book was recommend to me by another Audible listener and I've continued the trend. What captured me was the woman's bravery in relocating to this country right after the 911 attacks on the US.
The main character was so colorful and made wrong decisions like the rest of us. She didn't always think through her future plans, but that was why it was fun to peek into her life. I wanted to see how she handled her new marriage and culture and all the women she helped develop into wage earners in a culture where women do not work.
Yes, but who has that kind of time. Rather, I made a date with the story everyday, which made my dog happy, as I tended to walk longer.

"Outstanding!"
This is one of the best Viet Nam era books that I have read or listened to over the years. Having spent a year in the same area depicted in the story as a young 18 year old Marine radio operator, it is chilling to me how well the author did in recreating the actual atmosphere of that time and place. I hope he writes a sequel, as well.
"By far my favorite of the year."
Top ten! Great plot. Makes you wonder if this could have really been proposed.
By far the main character.
The vivid story is much more alive through the voice.
The Unsavory's
I could hardly wait to walk the dog each morning so I could continue on my journey west with the women. This book is one of my all time favorites.
