If you could sum up Into the Woods in three words, what would they be?

    Great addition to series

What did you like best about this story?

I liked how it helped flesh out the rest of the series, expanding upon what the other books left out. If you have read the others in this series you need to get this one. Get this after Pale Demon

Did Marguerite Gavin do a good job differentiating all the characters? How?

    She's did a good job.

    Any additional comments?

This is a great series and this book is good after getting the rest of the series so it does not spoil any of the other books. Get this after Pale Demon.

The ever after, the demonic realm that parallels our own, is shrinking, and if it disappears, so does all magic. It’s up to witch-turned-daywalking-demon Rachel Morgan to fix the ever-after before the fragile balance between magic users and humans fails. Of course, there’s also the small fact that she caused the ley line to rip in the first place, and her life is forfeit unless she can fix it.

Al, Trent and Rachael working together.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

The story that shows the new direction of the series

    Any additional comments?

After reading/Listening to the previous books, (you will want to read them in order), this has some surprises and shows how the character relationships have changed. I don't want to spoil anything so I am not mentioning what happens but it is what I expected. Overall this is a good series and well worth getting.

Rachel Morgan is a runner with the Inderland Runner Services, apprehending law-breakers throughout Cincinnati. She's also a witch, one of the many Inderlanders who revealed themselves after a genetically engineered virus wiped out 50 percent of humanity. Witches, warlocks, vampires, werewolves: the creatures of dreams and nightmares have lived beside humans for centuries, hiding their powers. But now they've stopped hiding, and nothing will be the same.

What did you like best about this story?

The interaction's between the main characters and no matter how bad everything got they stuck together in an amusing way.

    Any additional comments?

The story is great as it tells the story of a witch who is trying to stay alive a vampire and a pixie that befriend her. The three live together in a church and you can see the friendships develop. The best part is the fact that Ivy (vampire) Rachael (witch) live and work together but Rachael is scarred to death of ivy. It's an interesting story with a lot of mixed emotions. It's a good supernatural thriller with two main characters that have a lot of emotional baggage. I recommend this story and suggest that you listen or read them in order, just like the Bones and Cat books.

Would you consider the audio edition of Every Which Way but Dead to be better than the print version?

I liked them both and read the entire series before listening to it. Gavin is not my favorite narrator but she did well in this book, except foe a few places where she paused a little to long as if my Kindle stopped working but it did not take away from the enjoyment of the story.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Vlad, I loved his interaction with Cat and Bones in their series and it was great finding out more about him. Love his self importance.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes, it kept getting better as you see the relationship develop between them and get to hear about Vlad's past.

    Any additional comments?

This is the first frost book which you can listen too without it affecting the stories in other series. She does a great job creating another story to build a series from. If you liked any of her other stories then you have to listen to this one, especially if you likes Vlad in her other books.

What did you love best about This Side of the Grave?

The characters humorously interact with each other as the horror of their lives unfold. If you like Anita Blake, you will love Cat Russel. The interaction with the Ghoul Queen and the suspenseful story make this a great listen and Tavia Gilbert brings this story alive.Plus it's a;ways good when Vlad is in the story.

Have you listened to any of Tavia Gilbert’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I have listened to all of her Cat and Bones story's and as always she does a great job narrating this story.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Just like the rest of this series I just did not want to turn it off.

    Any additional comments?

I love the Rachael Morgan and the first 10 books of the Anita Blake story's and Frost's Cat character is just as good as the other two if not better.

The Rachael Morgan Series both have strong witty characters with good stories but Frost books have the better narrator.

As I have said before about the Frost books with Gilbert narrating is a great combination.
