"Bring us more Mowat"
This author is absolutely hilarious; it is hard to believe that the events are true.
When Mowat marked his territory and the wolves respected it. Also the dealings of Mowat with the beauracracy that he worked for are absolutely hilarious especially because they are so true.
I have not listened to other performances by Adams Sims so cannot compare this one to others.
Wolves... Not what you think they are
"This event likely still has major influence"
The organization and presentation of the major players that led up to the flood as well as the reaction of the aftermath is absolutely superb. This is another of McCullough's outstanding works. The narrator, Hermann, also definitely adds to the book with a outstanding performance.
To the point of the headline of my review, I can still see how this book has effects of the hatred that is shown to the successful (rich) in this country, unfounded or not.
"Another solid performance by de Ocampo"
Yes, I would; and have. My kids would listen to this book as many times as I would let them. Jeff Kinney writes another hilarious book about the modern day kid. All of the main characters, Rodrick, Greg, Fregli, and the rest, are back to their mischevious ways.
The main character, Greg Hoeffli, of course.
No scene was any more favorable than another, that I remember.
Yes
Ramon de Ocampo does another wonderful job of narrating a book much like the other ones in the series. The actions of the kids in the book may not illustrate the best example for our kids, but they sure do seem to illustrate todays kids pretty well. I think that is what makes them popular; because they have an element of truth... sad but true.
"Breaks down commonly held myths of this story"
Well researched
The choices and consequences of the party that led to their situation. Although I knew some about the expansionist period and the Oregon Trail, this book filled in a lot of the details in a fascinating book that kept me interested throughout. No fiction could be more interesting than recounts of true story.
Not sure if I paid attention to what the narrator brought to the story; I paid more attention to the story and listening to the events play out.
No, this book was riveting and kept me interested,it was not quite good enough to make me listen to app 12 hours in one sitting.
Although I mostly knew the fate of this party it was fascinating to hear about all of the details and events in a well-researched book and well-written book.
The details in this book were kept to the ones that were important to the events described in that section.
"Amazing story"
This story is absolutely fascinating, and is very well written and read. It is hard to believe that is not a novel. The author provides a very well organized description of this amazing story with an appropriate amount of detail at the right time. This story is a classic of WW II stories and would be of interest of non-history buffs as well. The story is written well enough to not need a good understanding of the history of WWII. Excellent listen.
"Riveting Triumph of Determination"
Absolutely riveting story of human spirit and determination. Have listened to this story multiple times and enjoyed it each time. The audio is easy to listen to, and the material is amazing to hear.
