"too much"
This book had a lot of promise but it was just TOO MUCH, too much crying, too much sobbing, too much, too much. I usually enjoy Kingsbury and the premise for the story is good but her writing was just dragging on the points and everyone was SOOOOOO sad and depressed about everything and it really wasn't one of her better books.
"odd"
this was an odd book. I didn't mind the story, it wasn't exactly edge of your seat thriller or anything. The romance was kind of thrown into the mix but not developed to the extent that you would really think they were madly in love. It was read okay and written fine enough to be a light entertaining, unbelievable type tale. Wouldn't necessarily recommend it but also wouldn't say not to listen.
"wow! a gripping conclusion to the series"
The voices! He can change it up so that it feels like you are in the room and actually watching different people speak.
It made me angry and sad more like. It's fiction, which is good, but it's so unfair what happens to this poor girl. Yet it makes you cheer her on even more!
I am thinking this book is probably better in audio format than in print since there is a lot of info. and background info. given about different characters that is just so much noise. I'd rather hear more of the story than hear background stuff. There are a lot of words that could be cut and the book would still be complete. So when I am working on things and listening with only half an ear it's still okay since lots of the words are extra. (in my opinion) so the plot is great, the story is great, the characters are great but there are too many words. The narrator was fabulous too. That can really make or break a story!
"What Hoot!"
I Love this author and will listen to anything she writes (then reads) She has a great sense of humour, and laughs readily at herself, even sharing cringe worthy details of her life. Love how she gets into family and culture and ties it all together in her stories letting us in on her past the good and the bad. The only thing I wasn't thrilled with was her stories aren't in any order that I could see, they seemed to jump around the time line a lot. So there was some overlapping and backtracking. However, that aside, I would recommend this book highly and again have to say would love to meet her and spend some time with her and her famiy!
"wowe! what a story!"
This was the type of book that I could not wait to get back to. The story kept me wondering right to the end. I did not figure it out. All the caracters are introduced and you think you have an idea as to how this will work but there are so many twists and turns you just never know. The book is quite descriptive of some aweful stuff so if you are sensitive to that it's probably better to read it so you can skim those things. However it was so well written, I'll "read" more by this author. Well read too!
"nice story"
Nice faith based story. it was a bit odd at the beginning but all in all a nice listen. Robin Lee Hatcher has some real great books out there. (this one is average) but as a whole I read/listen to everything that she puts out there. You just never know what you will get, however you do know that she is a quality writer and it will be interesting.
"Canucks NOT canooks!!!"
this story has a lot of female drama in it. A good deal of explicit sex and sex talk. and the narrator does not know how Canadians use "eh". She also mispronounced the name of the Vancouver Canucks. It rhymes with luck, shuck, huck, muck etc. It does not rhyme with crook. Also Canadians add "eh" to the last word in the sentence, no pause. for ex. "It's been a good runeh?" or "come in out of the coldeh?" turning the sentence into a question. NO PAUSE!!! other than getting unreasonably irritated at that, the book was okay. Story a bit weak, it's a typical romance. If that is what you are looking for that's what you are getting.
"yikes, it could be Sidney"
This could be Sidney Sheldon's writing. I was so sorry when there were no more books from Sidney Sheldon (for obvious reasons) but Tilly Bradshaw is pretty much as good. These stories are not feel good happyily ever after types so I can't listen to more than one in a row, having said that, I listen to a couple fluff pieces and then head right back to Tilly's writing. Well written and read.
"okay"
this book was not as funny as I expected. It had it's moments but it's not a stephanie bond quality. Not a bad read if you aren't into the bond series. I guess I keep comparing everything to that and it seems as though the characters are repeated in this book just slightly different but not enough to make it better. Could only give it a 3 because it's not bad, not awsome, but not bad either.
"enjoyable"
I always like S.E.P but this one wasn't quite as fun as some of her others, this one was a bit too sinister at times. Mostly well written and funny and fun but occasionally not so much. would still recommned it and most likely listen to it again or get the book and read it myself this time.
"interesting"
Listened to the entire series. they had their ups and downs but for the most part I enjoyed all three of the books and was sorry to come to the end since I had formed an attatchment to the characters. Still think about the books months later and would consider listening to them again. my only draw back was learning a few too many details about the funeral process ie embalming and such. Otherwise it was well written, interesting, believable and fun. There were challanges and sadness too but well written and balanced. (of course this is all my opinion)
