"Black Notice for this Book"
I have read many of Patricia Corwell's books and have enjoyed them. This is my first audio version and it is a disappointment on many levels. First, the reader's voice is overly crisp and precise. The way she pronouced Kay's lover's name as, "Ben-Ton" imparted a less than affectionate tonality to her lover's name that was not only annoying but served to undermine the believability and the listening experience. (I will not be buying any more books by this reader) Further, the auditory experience of listening to people jump down each other's throats at a moment's notice was unpleasant and certainly not the escape I was looking for. If I want to listen to people argue, I can do that for free. Finally, I found the idea of the "werewolf" a real stretch and the outcome very predictable.
"Cute"
Love the reader. He does a great job of portraying the various characters. The story is typical of this series which is why we like them!
"Delightful Story"
I throughly enjoyed this book. This is really 3 stories interwoven into one and all the characters were well protrayed by Dennis OHare, the reader. I do believe this is the best audiobook I have listened to yet. My only regret is I unknowingly downloaded the abriged version, I may still go back and buy the full version even though I know know the ending.
"Love those cats!"
If you love these books, you will love this audio version. Well read and a great story. I have read many of these books and I enjoyed hearing this one. Well Done!
"Another self-help seminar"
This is a recording of a live self-help seminar that Dr. Phil did somewhere. It does not translate well into the audio format and I did not finish it. I found the advice to be old and thoroughly trite. He is much better on TV. Do not waste your money on this.
"Why all the fuss?"
I guess I am missing something but I don't see what all the fuss is about regarding this book. It did not do a great job of holding my attention and parts were boring. I suppose all the action-chase scenes will translate well into a movie, but I doubt I will go see it.
"Everything you already knew but..."
This book confirms everything my intuition was already telling me about Hillary Clinton. My first "feeling" came after Bill was elected and then suddenly "Hillary Clinton" was now "Hillary Rodham-Clinton". Next, the health care debacle (did we elect her?), Vince Foster, etc. Living next door to DC, we get a constant stream of the goings on of the Rich and Political. This book explains why I had all those feelings and why all those strange people(like a Fellini film)started showing up in DC. The fatal flaw of the Clintons is that they both continue to underestimate the intelligence of the American People. They both thought that they could do what ever they wanted and we would not notice. I believe this is due to an inherent lack of ethics and morals as this book confirms. The manipulative behavior of Hillary Clinton is clear unveiled by this book. I still cannot understand why the people of New York would elect her to represent them. Hopefully, the rest of America will not make the same mistake. Tell your friends to buy this book.
