People starting out in business tend to seek step-by-step formulas or rules, but in reality there are no magic bullets. Rather, says veteran company-builder Norm Brodsky, there's a mentality that helps street- smart entrepreneurs solve problems and pursue opportunities as they arise. Brodsky shares his hard-earned wisdom every month in Inc. magazine, in the hugely popular "Street Smarts" column he cowrites with Bo Burlingham. Now they've adapted their best advice into a comprehensive guide for anyone running a small business.

If you could sum up Street Smarts in three words, what would they be?

    clear, concise, understandable

What was one of the most memorable moments of Street Smarts?

My business is nothing like the author's yet I understood each concept as it is explained.

What about Sean Pratt’s performance did you like?

The voice actor comes across as if he personally experienced these stories and concepts. A very enjoyable presentation.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Street Smarts has motivated me to move forward with several "next step" actions that, in the back of my mind, I knew needed to be accomplished.

    Any additional comments?

I never leave my comments. This is a first. I can assure you that the concepts related in this audio book are highly valuable to you, your business, and those you interact with every day. I won't say "it will change your life" but I will say that you may choose to handle people and situations differently (for the better) after listening to Street Smarts.

Kyle Riggs is snatched by an alien spacecraft sometime after midnight. The ship is testing everyone it catches and murdering the weak. The good news is that Kyle keeps passing tests and staying alive. The bad news is the aliens who sent this ship are the nicest ones out there.

    Story
This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

It's basically one more "epic battle to save earth" If you like stories of war, death, strategy, all with a new setup, then this could be for you. It's just not something I enjoy.

Would you ever listen to anything by B. V. Larson again?

Not from this series. I'll check out his other series with an ear for a truly creative story.

What did you like about the performance? What did you dislike?

The performance was clear and made the point when needed. There are only 2 voice artist I really enjoy regardless of the story being told.

Mickey Bolitar’s year can’t get much worse. After witnessing his father’s death and sending his mom to rehab, he’s forced to live with his estranged uncle Myron and switch high schools. A new school comes with new friends and new enemies, and lucky for Mickey, it also comes with a great new girlfriend, Ashley. For a while, it seems like Mickey’s train wreck of a life is finally improving - until Ashley vanishes without a trace. Unwilling to let another person walk out of his life, Mickey follows Ashley’s trail into a seedy underworld that reveals that this seemingly sweet, shy girl isn’t who she claimed to be.

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

Personally I was disappointed in this book. Had this been my first Harlan Coben book I probably would not have look to this author for my next book.

If you’ve listened to books by Harlan Coben before, how does this one compare?

The previous title involving these characters (Live Wire) was well written, well researched, and performance was quite good. Based on my previous experience this book did not meet my expectations.

Did Nick Podehl do a good job differentiating all the characters? How?

Some better than others. I know it's difficult to create different male and female voices plus the character of each.

Was Shelter worth the listening time?

    No

    Any additional comments?

I am hoping to hear another good book from this author but probably not from this audio performer.

Roger Ramius Sergei Chiang MacClintock was young, handsome, athletic, an excellent dresser, and third in line for the Throne of Man. So it wasn't surprising that he became spoiled, self-centered, and petulant. After all, what else did he have to do with his life?

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

    A better story line.

Would you ever listen to anything by David Weber and John Ringo again?

Only if I find that this was his first published book. I might check another book to see if he has improved.

What about Stefan Rudnicki’s performance did you like?

Stefan is the only reason I choose this book I would listen to anything he performs. except this one.

If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from March Upcountry?

I enjoy the creativity of well written science fiction. This story is mostly about military type battles. Mostly slaughtering the natives of a unknown planet. If you like gory blood and guts descriptions with images that will keep you up at night this might satisfy your desires.

    Any additional comments?

There are several spots where the audio repeated about 3 to 5 seconds. I have never run into this before. Poor editing of the final copy.
