clear, concise, understandable
My business is nothing like the author's yet I understood each concept as it is explained.
The voice actor comes across as if he personally experienced these stories and concepts. A very enjoyable presentation.
Street Smarts has motivated me to move forward with several "next step" actions that, in the back of my mind, I knew needed to be accomplished.
I never leave my comments. This is a first. I can assure you that the concepts related in this audio book are highly valuable to you, your business, and those you interact with every day. I won't say "it will change your life" but I will say that you may choose to handle people and situations differently (for the better) after listening to Street Smarts.
Huck Finn in the Future
Finding good caring people like Loaf.
The performance lost continuity as different performers read different parts. I couldn't see a story based reason for the change in voices.
Not a book to read a second time but interesting the first time around.
Like the other books I have heard from OSC there is adventure, a flavor of the environment, much detail regarding each character. I felt there was too much review as OSC explains the thought process of each character at multiple places in the story.
Nothing new to be learned unless you're 13 yo. But I'm 56 so what is obvious to me may be news to someone else. Mostly this guy has screwed up his own chances at meaningful relationships by spying on the women he is dating. Try spending more than an hour getting to know the woman, trust takes time and does not instantly happen on the first day, week or even month. You have to build it before you can enjoy the fruits of the effort. Now I've forgotten the book and started philosophizing.
Back to Science fiction
Perhaps if he had better material to perform.
Not especially. There are too many stories happening all at once (for my taste). Found it difficult to hear when one story line ended and the next began. LOTS of characters to remember. I listen while driving 30to 90 minutes at a time.
If the cast is as limited as his voices.
the book doesn't so much end as it just stops. kind of like the last episode of the season in a TV show. It's a cliff hanger to bring you back. I hanen't looked but I suspect there are 2 or more additional books after this one.
It's basically one more "epic battle to save earth" If you like stories of war, death, strategy, all with a new setup, then this could be for you. It's just not something I enjoy.
Not from this series. I'll check out his other series with an ear for a truly creative story.
The performance was clear and made the point when needed. There are only 2 voice artist I really enjoy regardless of the story being told.
Personally I was disappointed in this book. Had this been my first Harlan Coben book I probably would not have look to this author for my next book.
The previous title involving these characters (Live Wire) was well written, well researched, and performance was quite good. Based on my previous experience this book did not meet my expectations.
Some better than others. I know it's difficult to create different male and female voices plus the character of each.
I am hoping to hear another good book from this author but probably not from this audio performer.
A better story line.
Only if I find that this was his first published book. I might check another book to see if he has improved.
Stefan is the only reason I choose this book I would listen to anything he performs. except this one.
I enjoy the creativity of well written science fiction. This story is mostly about military type battles. Mostly slaughtering the natives of a unknown planet. If you like gory blood and guts descriptions with images that will keep you up at night this might satisfy your desires.
There are several spots where the audio repeated about 3 to 5 seconds. I have never run into this before. Poor editing of the final copy.
