The best-selling author of the definitive biography of former Beach Boy Brian Wilson offers new insight into the life and music of Paul McCartney, one of the world's most popular and influential musicians. Informed by new, exclusive interviews with friends, bandmates, and collaborators, the book describes McCartney's many triumphs as well as his failures, from the Beatles era through his decade with Wings and his subsequent solo career.

Not a bad read and insight into some of the complexities and contradictions of the man. But still no explanation as to why he could not repeat anywhere near his musical genius with the Beatles. This will remain one of life's great mysteries.

At once an incredible adventure narrative and a penetrating biographical portrait, The River of Doubt is the true story of Theodore Roosevelt's harrowing exploration of one of the most dangerous rivers on earth.

I didn't know much about Roosevelt except that he was considered a great President. This' and the title of the book intrigued me. Once I embarked on this journey I couldn't stop listening. Roosevelt's unique and obsessive personality, the journey with his son and the exotic and highly dangerous elixir of the Amazon jungle all mix together to form a wonderful human tale of adventure and heroism. And there's a twist of tragedy thrown in for good measure. A great read.
