What did you like about this audiobook?

I loved almost everything about this Audiobook. The story was very well written. And in my opinion the performance was absolutely on point!

Does the author present information in a way that is interesting and insightful, and if so, how does he achieve this?

Yes, I like the way that Nora writs. I like how she knows her characters. She gives them each characteristics and stays true to them. Yes they evolve but not in a way that is totally unreasonable.

What did you find wrong about the narrator's performance?

The narrator did a wonderful job!

Do you have any additional comments?

I love the way this story was developed. Beginning, middle to end, it was wonderful and very interesting.

I found an envelope in the mail. No return address. My name on the front, my address. Inside was a check, made out to me, in the amount of 10 thousand dollars. Enough to pay the bills and leave me some left over to live on until I found a job. Enough to let me focus on classes. There was no name on the check, just "VRI Inc.", and a post office box address for somewhere in the city. No hint of identity or reason for the check or anything. No mention of repayment, interest, nothing...except a single word, on the notes line: "You." Just those three letters.

This was a very nice second book to this series. I really enjoyed the story. The narration was slightly better on the first book but this performance was ok. My download had a defect in the beginning… and I will try to download it again but if I get the same issue I will return it due to the skipping track. Also, there was a ghost element that was just unnecessary in my opinion. Other than that, would I recommend this book? Yes.

Why would they change the narrator?!... This was a great story. I was so excited about hearing PJ's story :-/ but this narrator was NOT good for this variety of characters. What kind of accent was that for Rio?... Definitely NOT a Brazilian accent. The narrator was not successful or this book... I felt like I was listening to the men in the cast of Duck Dynasty half of the time. I've heard him on other books and I do enjoy his voice. Just NOT for this book...

*Note to anthers, publishing houses and the universe at large: DO NOT CHANGE NARRATOR IN THE MIDDLE OF A SERIES. It makes this series less appealing now.

I really enjoyed this book! I bought it because I have the second one in the series but I really didn't know what to expect. All I knew is that I didn't want to get ahead of the story so I got it and this was a pleasant surprise. I really enjoyed the mystery and the romance in this book. The way that it brings the love interests together is very nice.

I purchased this book thinking it was like the others in the series. It was not… I don’t know if it was simply that the supernatural is not for me but I just did not like this book. I liked the idea of having more than one story but then it got to the spooky “old ways’ of the highlands.

THE NARRATOR was not so good. She doesn’t have the correct accent for the role. And if you think about it, you’re going to compare this narrator to the one for the previous Books in the series and she just doesn’t measure up…

What disappointed you about Mackenzie's Mountain?

These are very short stories in this series. However, even though I do wish this would have been longer, if it were in my power I would change the Narrator. There were parts where the character was raising his voice but more out of frustration than anger. I feel like all the narrator did was just make it sound like yelling... Not a successful performance in my opinion.

Would you recommend Mackenzie's Mountain to your friends? Why or why not?

If they are looking for a quick read maybe. However, due to the poor performance I wouldn't want them to spend their money on this, even though it wouldn't be much.

How could the performance have been better?

If the author were to rerecord using the narrator from the second and third book in the series. I would even recommend the book. (Sorry I'm not even saying much about the story. What stuck with me the most was the poor narrating, I'm sorry to say.)

If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Mackenzie's Mountain?

Im not too sure. Maybe added a few chapters.

Would you try another book from Robyn Carr and/or Kate Turnbull?

Robyn Carr YES! Kate Turnbull... don't think so...

What was one of the most memorable moments of Summer in Sonoma?

I don't know... I guess the end was memorable.. I like how the story developed.

What didn’t you like about Kate Turnbull’s performance?

Not too much... Her voice is not horrible but she is no Therese Plummer... I really don't like how K.T.'s voice sound the same with every character... I was confused more than once... I would think; ' Wait who is talking?!'...

If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Summer in Sonoma?

Can't think of any. Good story.

    Any additional comments?

This story is really nice. The 4 friends that are thick as thieves and all have very different things going on in their lives. I enjoyed the story very much but the narrator, IN MY OPINION, did not do it justice.

What did you love best about Irresistible?

I loved that you weren’t sure about what was going to happen. The mane characters had a very nice storyline going but I also liked the supporting characters stories. Or the little hints we were able to see.

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Cecelia Frontero?

I have to be honest. I did not very much care for this narrator. I would have much rather Therese Plummer. I did like Ms. Frontero’s voice but I did not think her voice distinguished the characters successfully. In my opinion; when your listening to an Audiobook you need to be able to KNOW who is speaking at the time. I also didn’t like the fact that Noemi’s accent was all wrong! I have to admit I felt like she didn’t give the characters the proper voice. (Sorry)

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

I loved when Walker said: 'Yes, I'm your Daddy'... Just about broke my heart. (A few othe moments but only sharing 1)

    Any additional comments?

The last book left me wanting more of Penny and Cal’s story but I’m glade this wasn’t a continuation but rather a chance to get to know more of the Buchanan family. I love the fact the series will apparently expand a little bit more on the Buchanan family. I’m starting to like this family very much. (So even-though the narration was not my favorite, I WOULD STILL GET IT!)

Who was your favorite character and why?

I don’t have a favorite in this series. I love Avery and Ryder (Can’t wait for Book#3!!!) but I don’t and can’t pick a favorite.

    Which scene was your favorite?

New Years Eve party (Can’t wait for Book#3!!!) and breakfast at Moms...

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

    YES!!!!

    Any additional comments?

Can’t wait for Book#3!!! I loved that Avery got 'her share' but I can't wait for 'The Perfect Hope'. O and A were so meant to be that this book felt so natural. But book 3... Will surprise you if you let it.
