I very much enjoyed both Mass Effect books and wished that there was a bit more depth to story and character resulting in 20 to 40 more hours of listening enjoyment. I have played Mass Effect on a high powered PC through several times, each time with a little different strategy. The audio books very much enhanced the enjoyment of the game and vise versa. The result is I intend to purchase Mass Effect 2 for PC and any audio book that follows, it's a great combination. Kind of wished I had done that with Halo...
I so enjoy EE Knight's work. It's very visceral, very authentic, very human. Read by Christian Rummel, EE Knight's work comes to life and is thoroughly satisfying. Way of the Wolf is the first of 8, soon to be 9 (very hopefully) and sets the stage for a very rich, interesting story. At the risk of sounding a bit sexist, Vampire Earth may be a bit strong for some gals and youngsters (parental discretion...) EE Knight has a unique way of telling a story that has historically accurate tidbits strewn nicely through out along with geographical interest and human condition, all very certain, even painfully so in the sense of the deeper truths of mankind.
