In this healing tour de force, best-selling authors Louise L. Hay and Dr. Mona Lisa Schulz have teamed up for an exciting reexamination of the quintessential teachings from Heal Your Body. All Is Well brings together Louise’s proven affirmation system with Mona Lisa’s knowledge of both medical science and the body’s intuition to create an easy-to-follow guide for health and well-being. And, for the first time ever, they present scientific evidence showing the undeniable link between the mind and body that makes these healing methods work.

Is there anything you would change about this book?

I found this interesting, I was hoping to find a way to resolve a health issue. I do believe that affirmations work and the combination of a Louise and a Doctor looked a great combination.

However, there is absolutely no chapter breaks in this book nor is there an index. All of these things would have made it a good reference guide. It wasn't the content that disappointed is was simply wanting to find the relevant area without having to listen to the whole book. I got bored before I reached what I needed, and only managed to listen for a chapter or two.

Has All Is Well turned you off from other books in this genre?

I love Louise's books, but mostly I enjoy the artwork that goes with it, maybe I made the wrong choice for me.

What three words best describe Louise L. Hay and Mona Lisa Schulz ’s voice?

I found her voice a little New York Twang for me, (I am a Brit) it comes across as quite punchy. A softer voice might have made it easier to listen to but that is simply a personal opinion.

  • Self-Compassion Step by Step: The Proven Power of Being Kind to Yourself

Why does it feel so natural to be compassionate and kind to those we care about - yet so hard to treat ourselves the same way? "Our culture teaches us to use self-criticism for motivation and to build self-esteem by constantly measuring ourselves against everyone else," says Dr. Kristin Neff. "We need to re-learn the essential skill of being genuinely nurturing and supportive toward ourselves."

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

Once again it would be better if this was divided up into chapters, (surely this is easy to do?) I think this has ruined yet another potential book for me and I am beginning to lose heart in purchasing from audible because of it. (If I buy on CD for example it is laid out in chapters).

How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?

At the heart of this book is a great message, the reader comes across as really knowing her stuff and she carries it well. I like the meditations, (which is why I chose the audible version rather than the book).

Would you listen to another book narrated by Kristin Neff?

She has a nice soft voice but after a while I found her voice seemed to go up and down in a irritating way.

Eel Marsh house stands alone, surveying the windswept salt marshes beyond Nine Lives Causeway. Once, Mrs Alice Drablow lived here as a recluse. Now, Arthur Kipps, a junior solicitor with a London firm, is summoned to attend her funeral, unaware of the tragic and terrible secrets which lie behind the house's shuttered windows.

What made the experience of listening to The Woman in Black the most enjoyable?

This works beautifully in audio format, the listeners imagination conjures up the images portrayed. I could not stop listening! I found the character came across very well, as the story unfolded, you could hear him unravelling as the tale unfolded. I liked the cosiness of the scene described in the early chapter, it was an excellent contrast to the later atmosphere of the house. However I did find it disconcerting that I was not sure what time period the story was set - the speech appeared at first to be Victorian but then motor cars featured so I then thought it might be Edwardian.

Who was your favorite character and why?

    The protagonist was convincing

Have you listened to any of Paul Ansdell’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I found his voice very easy to listen to, he made the story unfold in a believable way.

    Any additional comments?

I found this gave me a taste for gothic fiction.

A woman vanishes in the fog up on "the Hill", an area locally known for its tranquillity and peace. The police are not alarmed; people usually disappear for their own reasons. But when a young girl, an old man, and even a dog disappear, no one can deny that something untoward is happening in this quiet cathedral town.

Would you listen to The Various Haunts of Men again? Why?

Yes, it was an interesting story.

What did you like best about this story?

I found the story engaging and I did not see a twist in the story coming. The killer is quite a chilling character and it kept me guessing who it was among the characters. I liked the way the story unfolded, it set a good pace.

Have you listened to any of Steven Pacey’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

no, but he read it very well.

    Any additional comments?

A very good audio book, and the start of a detective series, I am looking forward to hearing more.
