Every woman wants to be Elizabeth Bennet Darcy - beautiful, gracious, universally admired, strong, daring and outspoken - a thoroughly modern woman in crinolines. And every woman will fall madly in love with Mr. Darcy - tall, dark and handsome, a nobleman and a heartthrob whose virility is matched only by his utter devotion to his wife. Their passion is consuming and idyllic - essentially, they can’t keep their hands off each other - through a sweeping tale of adventure and misadventure, human folly and numerous mysteries of parentage.

I find after a stilted beginning, this story is interesting...and shows the misapprehensions of the day....and how communications can change everything....I find myself wanting to hear more and more. I've read it as well and hearing it always brings a whole different perspective to the writing! I'm hoping we can get all three of Linda's Darcy Books into Audible!

One-night stands are supposed to be with someone convenient, or wickedly persuasive, or regrettable. They aren’t supposed to be with someone like him. But after a crazy Vegas weekend celebrating her college graduation - and terrified of the future path she knows is a cop-out - Mia Holland makes the wildest decision of her life: follow Ansel Guillaume - her sweet, filthy fling - to France for the summer and just…play.

When I want light, sensuous and Intelligent romance, Christian Lauren is one of my go-to authors! While this book wasn't their best, it is certainly good and you can't put it down! (I always read and Listen to my favorite authors). Beautiful Player and Beautiful Stranger - in word and narrated are my favorites so far. That said, Ansel and Mia were captivating, intelligently written and I love the opportunity to get into their heads - I couldn't put it down - neither that nor Dirty Rotten Scoundrel - (Next in the Series). Keep it up CL - can't wait for Oliver's story!

This should have been a bonus on Finn's book, but that said, I love Ansel, I love Ansel and Mia - and they have a winner with this narrator and this series. (Narrators are everything!) I also like bonus tracks (on Fifty Shades Freed the epilogues are my favorites!). You can never get enough of a great character and Christina Lauren's characters shine! Thanks again for Beautiful Player and Beautiful Stranger - Love Sebastian York and Jonathan Cole as narrators as well and Jason Carpenter does Ansel justice as well - to narrate a French accent without being annoying is hard to do and he does it.

Despite their rowdy hookups, Harlow and Finn don’t even like each other.... which would explain why their marriage lasted only 12 hours. He needs to be in charge and takes whatever he wants. She lives by the Want-something-done? Do-it-yourself mantra. Maybe she’s too similar to the rugged fisherman - or just what he needs.

I couldn't put it down and I couldn't quit listening (Audible). I love books, I read (and listen) a lot. When I like a lighter, quicker (intelligent) read, I read authors like Christina Lauren. Let's face it, these (romance) authors are a dime a dozen. Christina Lauren is one of the shining stars in this genre - Never Boring! Christina Lauren has my number, just the right amount of sweetness, sex (and intelligence). I have to have plausibility - I hate it when characters jump right into bed. I love it when an author gets you inside their heads and I LOVE opposing POV's - Thank You both for that! . By the Way, Sebastian York is an amazing narrator! Shayna Thibodeaux also does her characters justice. I enjoyed Sweet Filthy Boy and now...DRT

Finn is the guy who doesn't talk - and he never talks much; AND he's a regular guy (refreshing), not a rich spoiled man with unlimited resources - that is very attractive. Harlow is the girl who gets the (guys) and has had a pretty charmed life (and thank God has some feelings under it all). Somehow they work, and have that real connection that doesn't need a proliferation of words. - Dirty Rowdy Thing is not quite at the level of Beautiful Stranger and Beautiful Player, but I Really, Really Liked it. I look forward to Oliver's Story!

Jamie Fraser knows from his time-traveling wife Claire that, no matter how unlikely it seems, America will win the Revolutionary War. But that truth offers little solace, since Jamie realizes he might find himself pointing a weapon directly at his own son - a young officer in the British army. And Jamie isn't the only one with a tormented soul - for Claire may know who wins the conflict, but she certainly doesn't know whether or not her beloved Jamie survives.

Outlander stands the test of time. Every book is an outstanding addition to the saga. Jamie and Claire as always are enthralling (but I find this is the one book there is not quite enough of them). The feeling of "you are there" in history and the feeling that you are experiencing these events with them is only part of Diana's talent. Bree and Roger are excellent in this book as well - Diana's ability to write parallel universes is just one of her great attributes. Outlander remains my number one series and with the advent of the so far accurate TV series these characters are brought to life. Better than i dared to hope. You can almost feel yourself in the presence of each of these people - she has given them depth, breath and life. I agree with others, while the Lord John books are fine - Lord John is at his best when he is in the Outlander series proper - and I find I so enjoy him in this context, but outside of Outlander I just don't like him as much or feel his depth as I do within it. Davina Porter continues to amaze with her ability to capture and fall into the rhythm of all of these characters - I listen again and again because of her wondeful interpretations! I hope those doing the Outlander series will listen to her version of the books as well as reading them (there are benefits to reading and listening - another dimension if you will) - they will gain much.Thank you Diana for your beautiful resonant saga - I count it as a treasure.

I can't say enough about the Outlander Series - probably my favorite series of all time. This series has just the right amount of everyone - and I love that continunity. Davina Porter is the ultimate narrator - and it is a joy to listen to her! That said the book alone is amazing - almost lyrical - Diana transitions effortlessly between characters and their plots and you as an Outlander reader/listener will appreciate the artistry in this offering - I was thoroughly immersed in WMOHB from beginning to end, both reading it and in the audio - thank you, thank you and I eagerly await the next Chapter!!!!!

Young interior designer Ava O'Shea has no idea what awaits her at the Manor. A run-of-the-mill consultation with a stodgy country gent seems likely, but what Ava finds instead is Jesse Ward - a devastatingly handsome, utterly confident, pleasure-seeking playboy who knows no boundaries. Ava doesn't want to be attracted to this man, and yet she can't control the overwhelming desire that he stirs in her. She knows that her heart will never survive him and her instinct is telling her to run, but Jesse is not willing to let her go. He wants her and is determined to have her.

I thought this series had a little bit of Shades of Gray Wanna Be - but it continued to surprise me throughout - Jesse and Ava were both all over the place emotionally (Ava more than Jesse) Jesse was just Jesse in alot of ways from the beginning - both were spoiled and beautiful, but ended up loving each other more than themselves which is a must for me - I liked the first book, and each book was better, the last book was the best of the Trilogy (and as they went along got stronger and stronger) and tugged my heartstrings more than once - while I thought the narration started off shaky, I believe in giving each narrator a real shot and Edita Brychta pulled it off. This series is worth the credits/dollars.

Jesse Ward drowned her with his intensity and blindsided her with his passion, but he kept her away from his dark secrets and broken soul. Leaving him was the only way Ava O'Shea could survive. She should have known that Jesse Ward is impossible to escape - and now he's back in her life, determined to remind her of the sensual pleasures they had shared. Ava is equally determined to get at the truth beneath this man's steely exterior. That means letting herself get close to the Lord of the Manor once more.

The Manor, the very place where their passionate love affair began, fills with guests on what should be the happiest day of Ava and Jesse's lives. She has accepted that she'll never tame the fierceness in Jesse - and she doesn't want to. Their love is profound, their connection powerful, but just when she thinks that she's finally gotten beneath his guarded exterior, more questions arise, leading Ava to believe that Jesse Ward may not be the man she thinks he is.

I couldn't literally wait until I got to listen to this, I lost sleep!! Nicholas Boulton is an amazing narrator and this story - well, let's just say I'll listen to anything Laura Kinsale writes and Nicholas Boulton narrates.... Christian is a man with a problem, a big problem, he has a "stroke" and is committed to an asylum. He has shared a passion of mathematics with a Quaker. This Quaker's daughter discovers him at this "civilized" asylum governed by her cousin. She feels moved by God to make him her business. Let's just say Ms. Kinsale treats this problem with the harsh reality it would have in this particular time period (they thought he was nuts) when in truth, the stroke that did not show on the outside, had wreaked havoc on the inside. With Maddiegirls help and personal struggles with her faith...things come along. One of the most realistically written historical romances I have read in a long time. They exist, but they are few. Enjoy the ride. I will make it my business to read/listen to her other books as long as Mr. Boulton is narrating.
