If you could sum up The Throne of Fire in three words, what would they be?Fun, humorous, entertaining
Who was your favorite character and why?Sadie Kane is my favorite character because of the way Rick Riordan has given her a great sense of humor as she goes through teen angst, the pains of becoming a magician, and some incredible adventures.
What does Kevin R. Free and Katherine Kellgren bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?They infuse both main characters with a living, breathing personality that is both believable and accessible to the reader/ listener. And every other character comes to life as well!
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?...laugh mostly, cry a couple of times.
Any additional comments?Love this whole series. It's not just a "kids" book. I love the Egpytian mythology facts as Riordan weaves them seamlessly into the story. I love that he has created a REAL muticultural family. Just a great time!

If you could sum up The Son of Neptune in three words, what would they be?Percy is back!
What did you like best about this story?Riordan has woven a great tale based on characters we came to love in the first series of Percy Jackson and the Olymypians. Only now he's put a twist on things. He keeps us interested. There's never a dull moment. And as always it's filled humor readers of all ages can appreciate.
Which character – as performed by Joshua Swanson – was your favorite?Ella the harpy!
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?Yes.
Any additional comments?As a bookseller, Riordan continues to be a favorite author for kids...and their parents, too! It's actually common to find that parents have read Riordan's books right along with their kids.

Would you listen to Writing Down the Bones: Freeing the Writer Within again? Why?Yes because she has a spiritual approach to writing and has learned to make her writing her meditation. I especially recommend it to anyone with writer's block.
Would you recommend Writing Down the Bones: Freeing the Writer Within to your friends? Why or why not?Yes, I have many meditator friends who would appreciate this integration of buddhist meditation and writing.
Did Natalie Goldberg do a good job differentiating all the characters? How?Yes because in this special audio edition she's reading it 20 years after writing it and as a bonus, offers her personal updated reflections looking back on her own work.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?No. It's dense in it's content so it need reflection to "digest" it. And there are writing exercises.
Any additional comments?Natalie has a funny "Jewish Mom" sort of character that makes it all the more enjoyable. The only drawback is the clarity of the recording, but it's not a hindrance.
