As for the readers, I believe that any of them could have carried the story on their own, but I hate it when they switch the reader mid-book. It changes the feel of the characters, which is sometimes disconcerting; even the differences in pronunciation of names gets annoying.
I love the first three books, and I'm currently enjoying this story, too.
I am usually not one to write reviews. However, listening to John Lee read is like listening to a high-school theater director do that over-the-top "theatre voice". He pronounces all the names different from the first books (had he not listend to Roy Dotrice?), all the voices do not fit the characters (again, why change it this far?), and his tone/rhythm is so off-putting (nobody speaks the way he reads, so why on earth read like that?)... I feel I have to suffer through this reading just so I can get to book 5!
Otherwise, I'm addicted to the storyline. These books are definitely worth the listening time.
