Several reviews suggested that Tom Clancy and his reader, Michael Prichard, had missed the mark with this edition of Jack Ryan. I am about half through with the book and find it exceptional and the narration is quite good.
Perhaps if you have not read any of the other books in this series, or not seen any of the pictures, you might get lost in the plot. However, anyone who is a fan of Tam Clancy and these charcters should find this an outstanding read. The complaint about the detail is understandable, but this is what Clancy has built his readership.
I was concerned with the negative reviews, but very happy I purchased this book, and find the unabridged version much to my satisfaction.
Excellent plot, new characters, very entertaining listen.
Several of the Rapp books are somewhat similar, but storyline enough different to make this a very good listen.
George is a first rate narrator. He could make a boring book very entertaining. Producers should be required to listen to some of the books they produce so they would appreciate the difference in a great narrator and the others.
Moved me to keep listening.
An excellent listen and one of the better books in the Rapp series.
Certainly worth the money for this audiobook.
Nicely plotted and great narration by a real pro.
Good plot, excellent characters.
Great book for long road trip. Finished in the time to travel from Southern California to Mendocino and back.
One of the better books in this series.Highly recommend to fans of the series.
Past the time very well.
Did the job of passing the time on a long road trip. Not great, but entertaining and worth the cost of the purchase.
Yes, have listened to many of DeMille's books, this seems to be an exception to his normally great stories.
Yes, would not buy another that is so far from DeMille's normal style.
Narrator seem to do an adequate job, just hard to create interest in a dull story.
Purchased this audio book based upon some of the reviews, and wished I had researched it a little more. Based upon past experience with DeMille, listened to almost 2/3 of book before I just had to stop before I through my IPod out of the car.Plot not believable, characters just too pat, and a very boring listen.
Story line just not credible and no attempt made to get the reader to believe the events could be possible. Story just dragged on and on and characters seemed to come from King's other works.
The show down with Oswald
Very well read
First audio book that I had to skip parts in order to force myself to finish the book.
King is obviously a very successful author, but this must rate as one of his worst.
The reviews got me to buy this book, but they do not reflect the quality.
