The China Study offers conclusive evidence that a change of diet can dramatically reduce the risks of heart disease, diabetes, and obesity. The book is based on the most comprehensive study of nutrition ever conducted, a 20-year joint project between Cornell University, Oxford University, and the Chinese Academy of Preventive Medicine. The study surveyed the eating habits of 6,500 adults from all over China and Taiwan and found a direct correlation between diet and disease.

If you could sum up The China Study in three words, what would they be?

I was skeptical at first even with all the positive reviews but gave it a shot anyway. By the end of the book, I am totally convinced that nutrition plays a key role in the development of common diseases.

The book has inspired me to change my diet and to be mindful of the nutrition that I put into my body.

Have you listened to any of Stefan Rudnicki’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Stefan Rudnicki is able to add colour and life to the book. He speaks clearly and plesantly. I enjoyed his performance.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes, the book is very engrossing and I actually listened to it in one day.

    Any additional comments?

Keep an open mind. This book could really save your life.

Why are some people and organizations more innovative, more influential, and more profitable than others? Why do some command greater loyalty from customers and employees alike? Even among the successful, why are so few able to repeat their successes over and over? People like Martin Luther King Jr., Steve Jobs, and the Wright Brothers might have little in common, but they all started with why.

Would you listen to Start with Why again? Why?

...It's insightful and has inspired me to look at things in a different way - that is, to always begin with asking "why". So, I will be listening to this book multiple times to make sure I understand the message.

What does Simon Sinek bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Simon brought enthusiasm and passion, but a professional reader may have done a better job of narrating.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

It is an "ear" opener. I've heard of the concept of having a purpose before, but this book really digs deep into the subject. It manages to maintain my attention most of the time.

    Any additional comments?

Great book, powerful lessons that can be applied to any areas of life, maybe could improve with a professional reader. But well worth the credit spent on this one.

  • Trading in the Zone: Master the Market with Confidence, Discipline and a Winning Attitude

Maximizing the trader's state of mind is the key to successful results. Conflicts, contradictions, and paradoxes in thinking can spell disaster for even a highly motivated, astute and well-grounded trader. Mark Douglas, an industry consultant since 1982, sends the message that a "thinking strategy" will profoundly influence a trader's success rate. Douglas addresses five very specific issues to give traders the insight and understanding about themselves that will make them consistent winners in the market. Trading in the Zone offers specific solutions to the "people factor" of commodity price movement. It uncovers the true culprit for lack of consistency when it comes to stock picking: lack of focus and self-confidence. Through simple exercises, traders will learn how to think in terms of probabilities and adopt the specific beliefs necessary to developing a winner's mindset. Along the way, they'll gain valuable insights into their own entrenched misconceptions about the market.

Would you consider the audio edition of Trading in the Zone to be better than the print version?

I got the book and now the audio. Have listened to the audio 3 times since buying it last week. I like both versions, but the audio is more convienient and I can listen anytime I like.

What did you like best about this story?

Consistently successful trading is within reach of all, if it is approached and thought about it in the right way. The book shows the right way to approach and thinking about trading.

What does Walter Dixon bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I like listening to Walter Dixon. He has a good voice and is easy to listen to. His voice adds extra dimensions to the story.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

There are quite a few stories and examples that have stuck in my mind. E.g. thinking like a casino operator (have an edge), the author's use of discipline in his own pursuit to run 5 miles, and the example of how a father is afraid of snakes but his young daughter isn't (people have different perspective and fears).

    Any additional comments?

A must have audio book for all traders. I will listen to this audio book regularly to reinforce the lessons and instill the mind set of a consistent trader.
