This was the first book I downloaded and listened to, and I was not disappointed. The writing is clear and concise and keeps you wanting to hear more. And there were some bits that had me giggling, too, even though this was supposed to be a mystery/suspense/thriller novel. My only gripe is that it ended too soon (for me) - but I guess that's just to make you want to read/listen to the other 2 books :)
The book in itself was pretty decent, although I had a few "what the...???" moments :S The worst part, in my (and apparently other people's) opinion was the reader. She was all over the place :( When reading the statements made by the protagonist, she went a little over the top - honestly, who speaks like that! BUT when she was reading the statements made by other characters (save for the wife), she was fine/normal. For such "serious" subject matter, she made it sound like a comedy. I mean, even I could've acted better!
All in all, a pretty decent listen, but that reader just kills it...
I absolutely LOVE this book! I have this in paperback and have read it numerous times. Usually for me, Stephen King tends to ramble on, but this story of self-empowerment always has me turning page after page after page. A must-read(listen) if you're a Stephen King fan!
