This was a mediocre story. If you're a big fan of World of Warcraft you'll still get something out of it but if not don't waste the credit as this story will have nothing of interest to you. Christie Golden's other works were great on their own but her work of the last few years are only enjoyable to those who religiously follow the game. This is a script to advance the WoW story line and not a whole lot more, the voice acting didn't help as the female voice actor was unable to portray most of the characters convincingly or even express emotions in a believable way.
I was skeptical of getting this one because it's so new and didn't have many reviews. Turns out the risk payed off. This was a really great book. It takes quite a long time to get introduced to it and it's really only worth it if you listen to the second book as well. Overall though I really enjoyed the narration and how the author introduces us to his world.
The author constantly references events that happened to the characters past without giving any background. Most of them feel about as deep as a teaspoon and there is really very little original with this story.
I'm not a fan of Robert McCammon's other works but this was actually one of the best audio books I've heard in a long time. The author does a great job of setting each scene and all of the characters are well developed and interesting. There is a lot of symbolism in this story and it would be equally as entertaining for a 15 year old as it would be for a 45 year old. Totally worth the credit, I would love to see more audio books by this voice actor.
This taught me a lot while being entertaining at the same time. The subject is well written and well researched. The reader presents the material well and makes it easy to follow. There is a lot of good story here and while being a history buff would help it is not required to enjoy this work.
The voice acting really made this book alot more enjoyable. This is a story that's better to listen to than to read I think. Not very long but still worth the credit.
I've been a Warcraft fan most of my life however I just couldn't get through this. I'll admit part of it is the voice actor who has done several of the books I own however I think it was mostly just a bad story. I know the character from the games and I really kept thinking I would feel more invested in the story however I just found most of this boring.
This is one of the better books I've bought off audible and it was only $4.95. The narration is good and if you like political thrillers you'll really enjoy it.
This book had some of the worst narration I've ever heard. The speaker skips between characters and locations without so much as a change in tone let alone a pause. The story itself just seems like watered down fan fiction based on a much better book. Save your credit and get something good, I really tried and I couldn't get all the way through this one.
