Overall I enjoyed this series. It was written different than I was used to reading. It was like and recounting of events and journey. At first I was not sure what I thought but it grows on you and you become captivated by her story. I only did the audio book for the last book but would recommend it. You can picture that these events could really happen. It is about choices and decisions that you make and the consequences of those actions/choices. It makes you laugh, cry, smile and cheer. The dialogue between characters is very funny. The performance was great.
This book picks up where the author left off and there is no disappointment with Seth and O. This book has it all. It is intense and unpredictable. It had me from the start and I really enjoyed every moment. I love the banter between characters. Seth is passionate about his fighting and his woman. He will never let anything stop him. Olivia is good but wants a little bad in her life. She does not take his crap but yet she still remains sweet. Selena is a mouth piece that you are not sure if you want to hate or love. She is messed up but in love with Jackson. I think they should have their own story because there are a lot of innuendos about their sex lives. I am only disappointed that the third book is not ready for us yet. Now I have to wait and stew over what is to come. This book has some unpredictable parts that I really like because it is not all sunshine and flowers. To me this brings a realistic quality to story. You will not be let down with this book. 4.5 stars from me.
What an unexpected surprise that this book was. There were some mixed reviews but I have to say that this book hit a home run with me. I was captured from the get go. I did not give it 5 stars because I feel like the Real Series was just a touch better. However this totally compares and will not disappoint. Seth and Olivia are two lost souls. They have both been beaten down by life and family and are trying to find their way. I like that this was not a story of a guy that was sexually abused and turns to sex to alleviate his pain. Seth is rich but this book does not focus on his money or him buying things. He is intense and seductive and a dominate, alpha male. Just the cover of this book can make you drool and imaging all that muscle and strength. Olivia although timid is not a total push over. She has some spunk and keeps you surprised with her responses. She can be feisty and innocent all at the same time. This has great steamy sex scenes and lots of chemistry. It is a romance story with a few twists and turns. This book will not disappoint and I cannot wait to start book two. 4.5 stars from me.
This was a cute romance between Kara and Simon. It was very long. At one point it said epilogue but there were still hours left in listening time. I think the book had potential but there were some gaps in the plot. I did not get the chemistry between Kara and Simon at the beginning. He was stocking her and then boom she and he are in love and living together. There was an attempt at a plot twist but it fell short. I know there are other books in this series and although not a bad listen I would not necessarily run out and get the next book. This would be a good book in the sale bin. I feel a bit critical as I write this but if you were to compare other authors to this one it just missed the mark a bit.
This book had so much potential. I really liked the storyline and the characters. I think it was well written and could have been up there with Olivia Cunning but the narrator Crystal Sershen killed it. She draws out all the endings in her words and her male voices sounded painful not sexy. If this book was narrated by another author, it would have been much better. I would listen to this author again as long as the narrator is changed. Rebecca was funny and quirky and I loved her cleaning OCD moments. Carter is funny and immature and Kent is stern and authoritative. I think the chemistry was great and the plot twists with ex-lovers was awesome. This was not just about a rocker on tour and that made for interesting reading. I don’t want to give any storyline away but the scene with Jason in the hotel was great and so deserved. LMAO. Please, Please, Please get another narrator. Happy I took the chance because the story was good.
You have to love those Reapers! This was another great hit for me. I think that this biker gang really captivates you. It is totally believable and you get sucked right in. I love that both books have reoccurring characters but are still very different. The author explains the name thing, which I think many people questioned so now it really makes you see past the funny biker names. Sophie and Zack are a train wreck and you have to love how she has become a strong independent woman trying to take care of her son. She does not complain and does not easily fall into the biker life. Ruger is tough, funny, domineering and sexy. I like that he doesn’t just give up and that he continues to help even though she keeps sending him away. The chemistry was great and the dialogue between them was fun to listen to. I really enjoyed the biker woman and that even though they are “Property” they hold their own. It shows that you can be tough and taken care of all at the same time. Somehow the author takes this biker club and makes you understand the family connection and supportive atmosphere. Even though it is way out of my scope of reality you can still believe that this goes on. One thing I did not like was the male narrator’s voice. His female voice was not great and he did not sound rugged enough to play the part of Ruger. I would have changed that. This is a must read series and I cannot wait for more.
This was a really good book. I liked the storyline even though Evelyn Thomas was young. I guess this explains why she is weak at times. I wish her character was a bit stronger but understandable since she is so young and just trying to tap into her inner voice. David was also strong and determined and I like that he was willing to make concessions as well. I hope that she includes all the other characters in her books so we see how their lives unfold. I also like that she used common names and not off the wall stage names. I think the books will only get better from here. I like the characters and it was nice not to have the story all about being on a tour bus. I still think Olivia Cunning rocks this genre but this was a good contender. I am anxiously awaiting the next book in April. Worth the credit. You have to love rock starts!
I don’t know what this says about me or the book but I forgot I listened to it and so started it again. Then I realized that I had read it. (Shows you that either my memory is bad or the book was not worth remembering) It did not get better with a second attempt. If you have read Olivia Cunning's series, you will be seriously disappointed with this book. There is nothing exciting about it. The characters are boring with nothing to captivate you. Lane is weak and indecisive and this drove me nuts. Noel was just not enough of anything to keep you interested. Maybe I am being a bit hard but you cannot compare this with other books about rock stars. There was potential to be better but it fell short for me. I would not recommend this book for a credit. Maybe if you got it in the sale bin.
I got this book on sale so I think that is why it was not as disappointing as it could have been, if I used a credit. First of all I really like books about female dominant characters so was really hoping this would be a hit. It was SLOW. I thought about not finishing but had surgery and was stuck in bed so just kept plugging away. It did start to get better near the end but it took a while getting there. I am curious to see who Casper is but other than that plot line nothing really captivated me. I think there were a lot of holes in the storyline that could have been better explained. For example; you find out you are a vampire and you don’t freak out and have a million questions? You don’t try and figure out what your limitations are? Your house burns down and you don’t seem that upset. I did like the betrayal part of the book as the author did her best to keep you guessing. I think there is potential and maybe it will get better. I am just not sure if I will continue with this series or not. If you want an awesome series about dominant female vampire slayers, then read Jeaniene Frost. You will not be disappointed. For me this is a save your credit but if you can get it on sale for $4.95, like I did then give it a shot.
Although this book is about a tortured rock star it does not have the excitement of other books of this genre. Sienna and Lucas have chemistry and that was my favourite part. It did not have as much BDSM as it leads you to believe. I like the fact that they are not an easy paring. I like that she is struggling and although Lucas is rich it is not all about the money and extravagances in this book. I think this book as an easy listen and keeps your interest well enough. At times I did find it a bit slow and was just thinking ok get it over with. I do like books that have chemistry and anticipation in getting together. I am frustrated that we don’t know the secrete between Lucas and Sam. It is also frustrating that audible had the second book in the series and now does not. I would say wait and read it when the second book is available again. It is also cheap enough to buy vs using a credit. I got it on sale so was not disappointed.
I have to say that I am a little disappointed in this book. It might have been the narrator. It seemed that he was rushed when saying his lines. There were some really good lines and he just blended everything together. I also don’t understand why the author did not use someone with an accent. This just threw me off a bit. I really loved Caleb and Livie's story. This series really makes you think about things. The content is often dramatic, disturbing and yet captivates you. I think that if I did not listen to this book, I would have felt ok with the just the two books. I did like hearing more of Caleb and Livie's story and yet again the author writes from a different perspective. I really like that about this series. This book is done from Caleb’s point of view and I am glad that he is still broken as it is more realistic. If he was all put together overnight, then it would be disappointing. It is a good listen but not as great as the first two. This whole series was an amazing surprises and I am glad that I took other readers advice and gave it a listen.
