If you could sum up Angel Therapy Meditations in three words, what would they be?

    Helpful, Thoughtful, Restful

What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?

I thought that the author was very tuned into the mediations and guiding listeners to freedom from worry. The least interesting was the purpose of each angel.

    Which scene was your favorite?

    I like all of it.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

I think the visual images the author had you conger in your mind were all moving to me.

    Any additional comments?

It is not a meditation I would listen to everyday. It is special for times when you are in pain or feeling in need of energy.

To make the journey into The Power of Now you need to leave your analytical mind and its false created self, the ego, behind. Access to the Now is everywhere - in the body, the silence, and the space all around you. These are the keys to enter a state of inner peace.

What did you love best about The Power of Now?

The author saved himself from a life of anxiety, mental illness, and self torture. He learned to go into himself and face his demons and is now an enlightened teacher of others who do not want to live in the present for fear of the future. I can't say that love is the best word to describe anything about this life. The objective of the author's awakening of his place in the universe is not a knew story. It is the story of learning to love the moment and not to worry about the past or future. I think he delivers a very important message.

Who was your favorite character and why?

The author is my favorite character. He has all of the answers while the other two characters only have questions. I do not see them as characters but as seekers of knowledge about their place in the universe.

What do you think the narrator could have done better?

I do think that it is difficult to understand his meaning at times. I suggest listening to "Revisiting the Power of Now" right after you listen to The Power of Now for a better understanding of the goals of this book.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I do not think most have the mental ability to listen to all of it at once. I suggest you listen it in 3 sections and later try listening to it all at once; if you have time. Wait about 6 months and listen to it again and you may relate to why not thinking is a positive behavior.

    Any additional comments?

It is my suggestion that you also listen to other works by this author. The methods of meditation he is giving you are difficult to comprehend if you are not a New Ager or do not Meditate as part of your religious practices. I recommend you try his suggestions and see how you feel when you do not think about anything. It is frightening for some at first. It makes you think you are lost in space.

Imagine feeling completely at peace about your money, whether you're earning it, spending it, saving it, or using it to help others. In Unleashing the Soul of Money, world-renowned fund-raiser and "money mentor" Lynne Twist shares from her 30 years of global research into happiness and money to reveal a surprising truth: that the size of your paycheck has little to do with fulfillment, and everything to do with getting your money aligned with your deepest commitments, values, and desires.

Would you consider the audio edition of Unleashing the Soul of Money to be better than the print version?

Yes, I am sure hearing it from the author is better than trying to infer her meaning.

What other book might you compare Unleashing the Soul of Money to and why?

I have not read another book like this.

    Which scene was your favorite?

The outstanding description of the culture of the consumer and how Americans are being manipulated into thinking we are poor were outstanding and memorable. But most important was the authors method of questioning the audience about their relationship with people and how it compares to their relationship with money.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

I was most moved when the author referred to her experiences funding raising for the world hunger program.

    Any additional comments?

I highly recommend that everyone in America hear this book and the mediation about money she recorded separately and in this book.

  • The Autobiography of Black Hawk

    (820)

This story is told in the words of a tragic figure in American history - a hook-nosed, hollow-cheeked old Sauk warrior who lived under four flags while the Mississippi Valley was being wrested from his people. The author is Black Hawk himself - once pursued by an army whose members included Captain Abraham Lincoln and Lieutenant Jefferson Davis. Perhaps no Indian ever saw so much of American expansion or fought harder to prevent that expansion from driving his people to exile and death.

Would you consider the audio edition of The Autobiography of Black Hawk to be better than the print version?

Yes, it let's you feel the horror of how the U.S. Government treated the Native Americans when it (the military) worked to get North America for the white race. It let you understand who truly naive the leaders of the Native American tribe were about the power of the US Government and people who wanted more land.

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Autobiography of Black Hawk?

Most memorable what when the women and children were forced to starve to death because they were not allowed to surrender and return to their land.

Have you listened to any of Brett Barry???s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I have not heard Brett Barry before. He is very expressive.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

The fate of the Indians in the Midwest makes a person want to cry. The selfishness of people and our unwillingness to share with other cultures makes me wonder what would happen if someone or think invades the US for the purpose of taking over our land. How would we react to them? Would we fight to the death or surrender in hopes of saving our life if not our culture and land.

  • What Makes Your Brain Happy and Why You Should Do the Opposite

Science writer David DiSalvo reveals a remarkable paradox: what your brain wants is frequently not what your brain needs. In fact, much of what makes our brains "happy" leads to errors, biases, and distortions, which make getting out of our own way extremely difficult. DiSalvo's search includes forays into evolutionary and social psychology, cognitive science, neurology, and even marketing and economics - as well as interviews with many of the top thinkers in psychology and neuroscience today.

Would you try another book from David DiSalvo and/or David DiSalvo?

No hard too understand what the point of the book really is. Too many studies no good summary of the results and how it relates to the title of the book. What is this about? Not for average reader. Every other paragraph is a quote from an work or study. Maybe a number crunched would like this book.

What was one of the most memorable moments of What Makes Your Brain Happy and Why You Should Do the Opposite?

Happy brain never defined. Nothing is memorable. Would not recommend to anyone looking for insigh to their behavior. WE IMITATE OTHERS.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

SPEAKER HAS A LISP. HE NEEDS TO SLOW DOWN AND STOP AFTER IMPORTANT IDEAS. AUTHOR NEED TO CHOSE A READ WHO WAS NOT HIMSELF.

You didn???t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

If you finally get to the last chapter; you might get some useful info.

Fear and distrust keep us from living the life we were meant to live, and they are the greatest hurdles to seeing the truth about life--that it is good, abundant, supportive, and potentially joyous.

What did you like best about Trusting Life? What did you like least?

I did no like the Narrator who read too slow at the beginning of the book and had a voice that made it difficult for me to concentrate on the contents of the book. I liked the fact that the author was willing to share her life with the listener. After listening, I could understand how fear from child abuse, rape, incest and domestic violence can have a long term effect on an individuals life. The author zeroed in on some solutions to a life of anxiety and fear. I think this was the best part.

What did you like best about this story?

The author is honest about how having the ability to overcome fear changed her relationships with her husband and other family members.

Would you listen to another book narrated by Rebecca Van Volkinburg?

No, had a difficult time staying tuned into this book because of the way Rebecca started reading it. She did get better about half way through the book.

Was Trusting Life worth the listening time?

Once I got into it, this book was worth listening to. Parts of it I listened to more than once.

The need for change as we get older - an emotional pressure for one phase of our lives to transition into another - is a human phenomenon, neither male nor female. There simply comes a time in our lives - not fundamentally different from the way puberty separates childhood from adulthood - when it's time for one part of ourselves to die and for something new to be born.

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

I enjoyed listening to this book and have purchased a hard copy. It is for those in there 40's or early 50's. I am 65 and most of what she referred to I had already experienced. Helps those with aging parents and teenage children. Makes you look at yourself directly.

Would you be willing to try another book from Marianne Williamson? Why or why not?

Yes, I enjoyed her thinking process as it relates to the aging process and guilt about not doing everything that you planned to do.

Which character ??? as performed by Marianne Williamson ??? was your favorite?

She was the only character in it.

Was The Age of Miracles worth the listening time?

I listened to this more than once. It was easy to listen to and learn from.
