I started listening to these books after watching the HBO Trueblood series and I can not get enough. Within a week, I have listen to all of them but book number 4 and I am having a hard time finding it. I think Club Dead makes you yearn for more. It was a very good listen and I could not put my IPOD down!

Why we think it’s a great listen: If you’ve ever loved a dog - or even patted a dog - this book, told from the perspective of man’s best friend, will tug at your heartstrings...and won’t let go until long after Welch performs the last word. Enzo knows he is different from other dogs: a philosopher with a nearly human soul (and an obsession with opposable thumbs), he has educated himself by watching television extensively and by listening very closely to the words of his master.

This book is brilliant. Told through the eyes of a beloved dog. It is a must read/listen for any collector of stories. I am not a race fan and there is quit a bit mentioned in the book but the story is simply about the love of a dog, through a dog's eyes, for his master. There were some parts that were very emotional. Loved it.

Eerie, dreamlike, set in a world that is weirdly related to our own, The Gunslinger introduces Roland Deschain of Gilead, of In-World that was, as he pursues his enigmatic antagonist to the mountains that separate the desert from the Western Sea in the first volume of The Dark Tower series. Roland, the last gunslinger, is a solitary figure, perhaps accursed, who with a strange single-mindedness traverses an exhausted, almost timeless landscape of good and evil.

I read these some 20 years ago. I decided I would refresh and start from the begining. Honestly...I don't know how I got so interested in the first place. Some parts were so dull I did not even care if I skipped a couple of chapters. Funny thing about reading Stephen King. He always adds so much detail that it bores you to death! But without that detail...you would not understand the story so you suffer through the dry parts. I love his writing and always have but it can be really painful in some of his books. By the time you get to the end of this one however, you will want to read the next one. One word to describe it...interesting.

The first time I read this book, I was enchanted. I loved the story. After 5 years, I decided to download it and listen to it again. I am still just as enchanted by the story line. This book is a journey for the characters in the pages as well as yourself. What I liked about this book is how they started off with a casual faith of the everyday person and evolved it to the heart felt faith of a true believer. I think that is where many of us are today. I think that is how we can relate to the characters and why they are so likeable. You find yourself worrying about them and carrying about them. You want to know what the next step is. When you become that involved in a book and the characters...it's a good one.

Is it possible that there exists an ancient mystery that holds the secret of America's future? That this mystery lies behind everything from 9/11 to the collapse of the global economy? That ancient harbingers of judgment are now manifesting in America? That God is sending America a prophetic message of what is yet to come? Before its end as a nation, there appeared in ancient Israel nine specific warnings and omens of national destruction - these same Nine Harbingers are now manifesting in America with profound ramifications.

When I first started this book, I was not really sure about what I was getting myself into. I believe everyone is looking to eternity and I don't care for scare tactics. With that being said, I listened with an open mind. I thought the story was pretty good. Not over dramatic like a "Left Behind" series. My only problem is I felt some of the things mentioned could have been easily sculpted to fit. Sometimes it was difficult to make the same connection the author was making. If you enjoy this sort of ancient mystery that speaks a lot about Christian beliefs and values , not a bad read. If you are already a skeptic...this is not the book for you.

As much as I love Holter Graham and sherrilyn Kenyon, I was not satisfied with the ending of this book. I felt like there was so much explaining about the Gods and different levels, I had to rewind just so I can absorb some of it. I did enjoy the story. I would read more in this series. This however was not one of my favorites. After I finished...I reread Acheron.

As always you have some virgin woman who has been looking for the right lover type of main character. I really enjoyed it. If you enjoyed the other books by Jeaniene Frost, you will enjoy this one. It helps you understand one of the characters that had always been so mysterious in the other books. (Dracula). Ha!! It was a welcome but very short appearance of Bones and Kitten.

Academy Award nominee Samuel L. Jackson (Pulp Fiction) rocks this mock bedtime story, capturing a hilarious range of emotions as the voice of a father struggling to get his child to sleep. Go the F**k to Sleep is a bedtime book for parents who live in the real world, where a few snoozing kitties and cutesy rhymes don’t always send a toddler sailing blissfully off to dreamland.
